  My shunning mother called me....accidently

  this was such a sad exhange and just shows how unnatural this bogus rule by the wbts is.. i see my moms name on the caller id and i immediately pick up.

  (keep in mind we live 2 blocks apart).

  my mom says julia?, and i say no mom its me, you must have dialed the wrong number.. mom: oh, i'm sorry, how are you?

  i am so sick of this woman, and her fame for simply being born into a rich family.

  i am just waiting for the day that we get to see her name in the obituary and not on the front of some magazine to say what a great thing she has done, when she found a lost dog.

  i actually like the movie, "house of wax", as it does allow you to see some damage done to this woman.

  I hardly saw any ex-jws so the only time I had the opportunity to shun was at the meeting. When I used to be an attendant, when disfellowshipped ones used to come in the hall, I just smiled at them although I never spoke. After they were reinstated, they privately thanked me for it. That was the only big rule I broke.

  has anyone posted this, or has anyone heard that you can now be d/f for being obese?

  not that i am, (slightly overweight but arent most people?

  ) but am curious to find out if it is true.

  I remember one time at work, the staff all had health screening. I was surprise that seemingly slim men and women had high cholesterol and a lady who was quite large had very low cholesterol. When I was ill some years ago, I put on weight because I wasn't as active, and the elder I mentioned before kept going on and on about me putting on weight. I told him that I had very low cholesterol and he shut the fuck up. Typical of jw's they only see things by outward appearances.

  I knew an elder who really believed that this should be enforced, because being overweight is a sign of greed. I told him that he was an uneducated fool. He made my life hell after that comment.

  i googled jesus and found these pictures of what he may have looked like.. here are a few pictures i saw that didn't match what i expected jesus to look like.

  Barry Gibb looking like Jesus. I used to think so when I was a kid, even the society thought so in the live Forever book on page39. Hey a Mancunian Jesus. Or Robert Powell who played Jesus of Nazareth born in Salford, supports Manchester united, that's why they're a great football team. Divine intervention.

  How up are you on the music and musical artist, hot today?

  as i get older, i understand more the generation gap we always remembered being mentioned with our parents.

  i always thought i was on top of the music scene, as i used to run a music and video store in the late 80's.

  i thought it kept me on a path, that would keep me in the know of what was hot and what was not.

The moment your circumstances change the elders turn on you, and they seem to forget all the work and loyalty you shown the organisation.   Why does Jesus have to have Anglo/Saxon European features? To appeal to bigoted westerners. The first picture JH posted was based on what a first century Jew in the middle east would look like. Yes you see Jews with blue eyes, blond hair, etc, but how many people with those features live in the middle east back in the first century? Yes we'd love our Jesus to look so European to appeal to our prejudices so people who look slightly darker are not approachable? I rest my case.
