Is becoming a witness the right thing for me

i've been struggling for quite some time now about continuing my exploration of the jehovah witness faith.

i am a "cradle" catholic and have been very involved with the church.

i started to become disillusioned several months back with all of the tradition, habits, and teachings of the church--which i began to seriously doubt.

16 we know very well that we are not set right with god by rule-keeping but only through personal faith in jesus christ.

we tried it - and we had the best system of rules the world has ever seen!

convinced that no human being can please god by self-improvement, we believed in jesus as the messiah so that we might be set right before god by trusting in the messiah, not by trying to be good.

here is a few pics of our home...they are not very good though ...lol...i don't have any pictures up yet, most of my plants are setting on my table (still), some stuff is still out in the moving van and our grass is not in and garage is not built (the cut lumber in our yard is going to be milled and used for our deck and garage)!

here's our back yard ...but since we faced the home inwards..i guess it's our front yard!..lol.

What are the new release's for the 2006 conventions?

i beleive the conventions have started in the usa, in australia they won't start for a few months yet, and i want to show-off to others and show them how spiritual i am hehe.

isn't it stupid how some of them actually think they're more spiritual just because they know the new relelases before others, what a joke!.

did you use the bible to support the magazines?.

it was only in the last year or so before i 'saw the light' that it dawned on me.

i knew co's who could quote wt texts, page and line, but almost never really used the bible.

Were you allowed to take sex education in school, when raised a JW?

when i was in my freshman year, they had us take a half semester of sex education and another one was drivers education.

the sex education class taught good stuff for a young teen to know, especially if they were in families who were kind of lax about teaching what needed to be know.

as an example, one girl in our class actually asked if you could get pregnant the first time and another asked if the pulling out method was as good as a condom.

i was reading through the 'why i hate god' thread', and reflecting on my own experience with prayer.

i think the one most... relieving?

point was when i realized that i when i prayed i wasn't really trying to talk to jehovah, but i was talking myself through my own life.

my husband and i have been the recipients of elder shepherding calls.

they are bs.

some elders came into our home one night requesting a meeting with us because they wanted to ask us questions about one of my brothers, who was an elder, but got deleted because he stood up for what was right and denounced the wrong things the elders were doing.
