i've been struggling for quite some time now about continuing my exploration of the jehovah witness faith.
i am a "cradle" catholic and have been very involved with the church.
i started to become disillusioned several months back with all of the tradition, habits, and teachings of the church--which i began to seriously doubt.
I wish you the best of luck in your search. I, myself, am an active Witness; however, the majority on this website are strongly anti-Witness, to put it mildly.
Take what you get here, and put it through the same refining tests that you would put any other source of information through.

oh wow! I absolutely love the language of that version! I'm actually bidding on it on Ebay... it and The Living Bible, because I find it so interesting to read the Bible in these 'modern language' versions.

here is a few pics of our home...they are not very good though ...lol...i don't have any pictures up yet, most of my plants are setting on my table (still), some stuff is still out in the moving van and our grass is not in and garage is not built (the cut lumber in our yard is going to be milled and used for our deck and garage)!

i beleive the conventions have started in the usa, in australia they won't start for a few months yet, and i want to show-off to others and show them how spiritual i am hehe.
isn't it stupid how some of them actually think they're more spiritual just because they know the new relelases before others, what a joke!.

I only know one is called 'Live with Jehovah's Day in Mind', and it's apparently like a young people ask book for adults. My friend who's already gone told me it's fairly detailed.
did you use the bible to support the magazines?.
it was only in the last year or so before i 'saw the light' that it dawned on me.
i knew co's who could quote wt texts, page and line, but almost never really used the bible.
I read the magazines on the toilet.
While I lightly peruse them for service, I try to do a presentation that's pure scripture and if I'm able not an overly used scripture, and usually place the mag as a side note. 'sides, they only re-re-re-repeat what I already hear five times a week.
when i was in my freshman year, they had us take a half semester of sex education and another one was drivers education.
the sex education class taught good stuff for a young teen to know, especially if they were in families who were kind of lax about teaching what needed to be know.
as an example, one girl in our class actually asked if you could get pregnant the first time and another asked if the pulling out method was as good as a condom.
yeah i've had that class twice, in seventh and ninth. Funny cause here it was never a big deal. Maybe it wasn't cause I was one of the very very few in public schools, and the only one in the middle or high when that took place...
I think i only freaked out when in ninth the coach (a perv) showed a video with closeups of diseased penises. What made me angry was he didn't tell us there was going to be some nasty dripping clip of somebody with gonorrhea on the screen, and being a jerk like I can be, I reported him and got him suspended for two weeks. a.k.a let the class know when there's nasty shit like that in a video. I still wouldn't want to see something like that to this day.

What did you learn about the Watchtower Organization I'm not sure yet; I'm still learning. But it seems like a lot of times they use Jehovah's name where it should say WTS.
What did you learn about the JW's Nearly every single one just wants to have fun and love life and the people in it, and most of the time if you aren't an overbearing asshole, you can draw out that funloving, interesting person inside.
What did you learn about God in general and the Kingdom to come? Geez. Read The Bible Teach book. That's what I've learned. A better question might be, 'how do I feel about it'... but I doubt I could answer that either right now.
i was reading through the 'why i hate god' thread', and reflecting on my own experience with prayer.
i think the one most... relieving?
point was when i realized that i when i prayed i wasn't really trying to talk to jehovah, but i was talking myself through my own life.
