Big announcement after all DC have ended?
by Quandary ini was told by a reliable source that the organization will be making a "big announcement" at the end of the summer when all the dcs have ended.
has anyone else heard this?
maybe this is the "new light" they have alluded to in recent wt study articles?

I do think they are up to something......
My mother after 30 years was told to stop associating or speaking to me by the DO during is latest visit. (About 6 weeks ago). I have been gone since about 17, showed up a few times since then, you know, memorials, special talks, or occaisionally an assembly, etc. but never actively pursued going back. Not Da'd or Dfd.
Always supported and listened to her stories, concerns, latest enlightening, yadda yadda.
He made it clear to her that her softness had not produced any results, so she must shun me to start producing some results. As you many of you may realize, it had the opposite affect. (Thats why I'm here on this board)
I think slowly but surely they are getting reved up for (YOUR IN OR YOUR OUT) no riding the fence.
Just my opinion.

Just have to vent about supposed full grown son

I am so angry right now. I'm trying to get the house, yard, and self ready for a one week trip tomorrow. I just got a call from my 22 year old son who lives with us. He is not working. He is going to school, which we are paying for. He took his dad's new truck out to Cocoa Beach to go surfing. (My husband is in Chicago for the weekend)
Anyway the phone call was to let me know that he lost the keys in the ocean, and some one has to drive the 2 hour trip to bring him another key, (with gas being 3 dollars plus a gallon). Thankfully my younger son, who works full time was home to drive out the spare key with the promise he would get gas money from his older brother. Where that gas money is coming from, I have no idea, on the other hand yes I do. It costs $72.00 to fill my husband's truck and about the same to fill my younger son's truck. (Younger son pays for his own gas)
This older son was given a car --1993 Chevy Lumina with 65,000. present miles on it by me. But because I bought it from his grandmother he feels he doesn't need to drive it, especially when he sees new vehicles in the driveway. We are maintaining the insurance and tags on it.
I know this is our fault as parents. Little by little you get whittled away about stuff, especially growing up as a JW, you want to give your kids every opportunity possible, support them in their endevours, etc., but I'm through! I tend to be the softee and now I'm paying for it. It seems one way or another being raised a JW just keeps costing in one area or another.
So.........
As the saying goes, (JUST WAIT TILL YOUR FATHER GETS HOME!)....Party is over!!!!!!

PS. I just realized, he has called on two strange phone numbers, so apparently he lost his $200.00 cell phone also.

i cant stop thinking too much
by sam1987 ini seriously cant stop thinking into things too much, does anyone know any good ways to stop over thinking?
i just want to let myself go with what i want to do, not with what i think i should do, (this is all probably because of the way im used to thinking in the old days), is there a way you can stop yourself from thinking a way you dont want too?
this probly makes no sense to anyone but i cant exspain it any better.

when i think of them i judge them as having been totally vain and naive and having made me too narrow minded, passive and dependant on other people.

I fell in love with someone at 15. If my mom and dad had not been such dogs against it, it might have lasted.Low and behold my father and former boyfriend became very good friends.
My biggest love I married. I met him at late age 16 he was 18. It took about 3 years and we married in November of 1979. We will be celebrating our 27th anniversary this fall. I still love him with all my heart. I can't imagine being married to anyone else. He is the most hansome man and biggest sweetheart that I know of.

Tattoo! (got any?)

I have no problem for all getting one but somehow could never do it myself. My brother dated a fabulous tatoo artist and wound up with some beauties..... A woman standing in the ocean receiving.c.........from a lizard. It takes up his entire back. It is a work of art no matter how disgusting I personally found it.
The problem is it is permanent, and if you can't hide it, you will pay in the business world.
This will eventually fall out of favor and then everyone is stuck with thier butterflies, snakes, etc.
On the other hand I think this stuff is much better than piercings. When you put a hole in your face....good luck to you. We hired a girl with a big hole in her nose that had to be plugged to work. Boy was that gorgeous. It was absolutely UGLY. She didn't last long. Piercings in the face are obnoxious to me. I do not want to see your self abuse. I don't want to see your silly fat belly with a piercing, your eyebrows destroyed, your nostrils, lips, or any other body part. It's ugly and in a few years you will be considered as outdated as the 70's and 80's.
My son had His tongue pierced, and believe me, nothing healed up faster after I got a hold of him . No tatoos or piercings on my sons. Nothing to do with JWs.

Because all want to have accurate info I will let you know these minimal details of what I know.
First off, I met him on several occasions and he seemed nice enough. I will tell you he fell in love with someone I know, and may have gotten taken out for that.
The society does not allow for human feelings much like the Catholic Church.
I hope this is not why he was let go, and have no way of knowing, but headquarters are ruthless with their bigger representatives.

by Elsewhere inwhy are product filters so hard to find???.
i have a pur water purifier for my kitchen faucet, about 10 years old, and a eureka vacuum cleaner with a hepa filter, about five years old.
both work great and require their filters to be replaced every so often.

I'm with ya!!! I have an air purifier I paid big bucks for and can't find new filters, also my absolutely brand new air conditioner had a monster filtration system put on it and only one outfit sells the new filters for very big bucks. I keep taking it out and vacuuming the sucker. (filters are $100.00 ....come on!
In other words, they got me!

Some people do not understand those risks, and if you are posting on a site that cannot be googled or gotten into without joining I think a lot of people still feel there is some privacy. Especially when it is a small intimate group that contacts each other daily.
Personally I think there should be some degree of respect among members because of where they might be in their flight from the JW's. I am not saying don't repeat, just change it up a bit so it won't be recognized or traced to somewhere else unless the person says this is open to be broadcast in all forums.
Again, just my opinion.

I am very disturbed to see your message. That came off of a private women's only website word for word. I think if this girl had known it was going to be broadcast further she never would have written that message.
Although you did not use her name, I know her very well and she would be outraged to know it went any further.
My point being a name was divulged which could be traced back to her. Please in the future, use your own words.
