I hear you!!! What a point!!!
Do you think that some from the social security office will be saved then just to administer cheques to those working for the cause?

this was one of many aspects of my studies that gave me real problem.
i figured out that there was no way i was going to be in any %0.01 survivor group.
and if i was; all those rules and restrictions wouldn't really make it a paradise on earth for me.

i want to share a perspective, with everyone that comes here to read, for i feel it will take some of us in a new direction.
perhaps it will allow for some creative thinking and interesting discussion or maybe it simply wont go anywhere.
it does not really matter either way, for there are subjects which can only be speculated on and thoughts which can only be shared.

For me it's good to learn from other religions, as i don't believe that only one religion has the truth... I do not know whether there is a god, but i firmly believe we have a spiritual side to us that needs fulfilling. Reading other religions and cultures material can only benefit that spriritual side we all have.
It's interesting what u have to say on Esau and Jacob...how easily the teachings of the Koran could have been included in the Torah...i've never looked at it this way before.
However, i do not believe that religions aim is to teach morals and ethics. Many religions are run by people who through their own actions prove that they do not have morals. For me it is about power... power over the individual. Religion has throughout history been used as a tool to control the lower classes...one only has to check history, throughout the industrial revolution the working class were taught to accept their lot in life. Pre industrial revolution...serfs were taught that kings and lords were placed their by God, and not to question this. Worldwide, Catholics used whatever means they had to gain world domination. Today, as we all know religion can be used as a powerful tool over the individual.
I believe that certain morals are inate...for instance not to hurt someone by our actions. We do not need religion to teach us certain ethics and morals ... who has the right to tell us that we cannot act a certain way???
However after saying all of this, much can be learnt from examining other cultures, other angles on history, other religions. We should not narrow our mind and concentrate on one groups interpretation.

what a result!!
!...so are we gonna do it???.
is the dream of a repeat of 1966 possible???.
I'm with expat on this one...Heskey as the target man from Beckhams crosses...to link up with owen
Digs team as follows
Martyn in goal----Seaman did have a good game but he's not consistent enough.
Three Central defenders would be ideal, with the abscence of Adamas we seem to have lost the ability to play a flat back four, however with no decent wing backs we have no choice but to play a flat four with Neville (sorry expat...we're all allowed one mistake in life aren't we?), Campbell, Ferdinand, Powell
Midfield....Beckham to run down the right flank, crossing into Heskey, this will work with the lowly teams, such as Albania, but against a good defence like France, he will have to cut in to Scholes. Against a good team, play Butt as an anchor man, lowly team Gerrard to link up with Scholes and two front runners. Scoles as an attacking midfielder...scare the s**t outta the defence by running into the box. Mcmannaman out on left...cutting into the field...he doesn't play well as an out and out winger.
Front two......Heskey as a target man, to hold up the ball while others run in. Owen..need i say anymore???
There we have it!!! The world cup is in our grasp!!!...just give me the job...any one want to be my right hand man after i get the phone call from the FA??
i'm a newbie to the forum and also manage a health food store.
be happy to help out with any health issues and/or dietary questions.
Rob,
At least once a year for the last five years i've suffered from a broncal infection. Last winter i had pneumonia for six weeks ( i'm only 30), the doctor does not seem to give me anything to combat this, i end up just 'sitting it out'. Is there anything i could take throughout the year to prevent this onset in the colder months.
I would appreciate any advice u may have
Thanks

Well as for me, my parents became witnesses when i was 13. Baptised at 15...out at 24. Never been disfellowshipped( although i have moved on from the 'truth'), never wanted to dissassociate myself...as i didn't want to play that game, did the marriage thing..did the divorce thing...and have three wonderful children. I'm not an apostate or anti-, just someone who came to the conclusion that the way i was taught to live just wasn't for me.
I live in the uk throw myself into my work...and now love life!
So thats a bit about myself, just tell me a bit about yourself so i know who i'm talking to when i'm in chat.
Thanks....

i wonder what will happen to any jw`s who choose to vote in the next uk election?.
i have been talking to an english jw pensioner who reckons that he has had his senior citizens pension increase by over 1000 per annum -about $1600 - under tony blairs labour government, he says: "no way do i want to see the tories get back in again, i`m much better off with labour in power".. he may well be tempted to vote for his choice of government within the next 3 or 4 weeks.
unlike us voting laws, the english government has to call a national election within 5 years of the previous one.
i feel that i have to respond to this topic....Surely by voting you are making a statement that you do not want to belong to the org? For me the first time i voted, it was as if i was saying that i no longer wish to be part of the organisation. By becoming a witness, surely you are accepting everything that it entails, including not being allowed to vote. By excercising your right to vote, in my opinion you are disassociating yourself from that particular belief system.
