We used to get searched on our way out when i worked for Toyota car plant. I think it is legal, but i think you can insist on a woman. What is the store you work for?

i am in the middle of induction training for a new job at a local store that is one of the uk's largest hardware stores.. today we were told it was company policy that every staff member is searched everyday before they leave the shop.
you cannot, under any circumstances leave the store until you have been searched both your bag and person and sometimes you car also searched.. your handbag has to be emptied and searched, your pockets have to be emptied and you have to take off whatever clothes you are told to take off including shoes, roll up your shirt above waist level if you are a woman and loosen the waist band of your trousers.. if i am right, even the police are not permitted to search anyone without due cause and i already feel 'violated' at the thought that i will have to go through this humiliation everyday.
this shop basically sells toiletries, garden stuff etc and insist that half of their theft if from staff.. however, we were also told that shoplifters cannot be stopped unless they have been followed all round the store and their is 100% knowledge that they have stolen something as a stop and search would get the store into terrible trouble.. so, am i correct in thinking that these people are going to violate my human rights every day!.

jehovahs witness refuses to let husband have life-saving blood transfusionby lucy cockcroft last updated: 6:42 am bst 06/06/2008 the wife of a man who is critically ill in hospital has refused to let doctors give him a life-saving blood transfusion because he is a jehovahs witness.john edwards, 57, suffered severe injuries when a motorist suspected of drink-driving knocked him over and medics have warned he could only have days to live if he does not have the transfusion.. but his wife sheila said he has signed a form banning any blood transfusions in the event of an accident or illness, because their religion forbids it.. it is believed she is rejecting repeated pleas from doctors hoping to change her mind.. the couple's sons, jonathan, 36 and tom, 29, do not share their beliefs and it was unclear last night whether they supported their mother's decision.. a family source said: "sheila is adamant that john must not have blood.
she says giving him a transfusion would be like assaulting him, and he wouldn't want to live knowing he had disobeyed his god.. "she is in a terrible state, constantly in tears at his bedside, but won't give in to requests from anyone.
her sons are both with her but her position hasnt budged.".
This reminds me of a situation i found myself in many years ago.
My ex wife's brother and his wife were in a terrible car crash on the way to Wales to spend time with us, as my auntie has a caravan situated there. It happened along the road where the Seven Sisters are if anyone is familiar with it, on a wintery day.
When we got to Shrewsbury hospital they were in surgery, my sister in laws mom and dad had actually signed the form allowing blood. Her mom was a witness but her dad wasn't. The grief she took off me ex's family for that was unreal.
When he came out of surgery he was put straight into an intensive care bed. We were all in the room and the surgeon said he needs blood and anyone of you (refering to mom, dad and 3 sisters) can sign for it. Nobody would, his dad isn't even a witness but he backed down. After an emotional and angry five or ten minutes the surgeon, who looked shattered she'd been working on him for 11 hours, but she said quite coldly, 'right he will die, i don't think he will make it the night if he does then we will see what tomorrow brings.'
The HLC soon got involved, they seemed more concerned about them not having blood than them both pulling through. They offered for us to pray together, but the prayer hardly mentioned about them pulling through. I remember at one point the father going mental, because it was as if they were there to police the surgeons.
The next day the head of the hospital got involved and said that they would respect their wishes as they were now in possession of the blood cards.
To cut a long story short they were in intensive care for about 2 weeks and took months to pull through, but they did eventually.
I will never forget my ex mother in law screaming 'i can't sign for him to have blood, i have brought him up all his life with our morals and to do so would go against all that.'
The ironic thing is though the accident would never had happened had he not been such a lunatic driver on an icy road. He was one of the worst drivers i knew, a total boy racer. After his wife started to get her memory back she began to remember telling him to slow down. 'Shut up stupid bitch' he was saying. They divorced over it.
And as for the other driver they crashed in to. He had a swollen brain, was in intensive care for many weeks, i don't know if there was anything long term over it. But guess what? He happened to be an ex JW, his active sister put us up the one night when we were visiting the hospital.

Following on from this the JW is still critical. I read in todays paper that he was actually having a transfusion when the wife arrived at the hospital. She ordered them to stop immediately and the hospital were obliged to follow her orders.

it does not include greatest hits or remix compilations or boxed sets.

That "slept" with kids part kills me! My kids "slept" with me. I will go to sleep in one of my twin daughter's bed while their little sister (She's eighteen.) sleeps in the other twin bed (literal twin bed). My oldest slept with me an my husband on and off until she was 9 years old--until the twins were born and kicked her out. My brothers slept shared beds and rooms. Hell there was 13 kids! I think White people and Black people think differently about the term "slept with kids"!??
You're talking about your sleeping with your own kids, bit of a difference.
I assume you would have other people's kids over on a sleepover with just you? which is what went on here.

dear friends,.
as i cook away, preparing a hearty breakfast before the robust walkabout that awaits me, i recall an earlier conversation with a married friend whose wife prepares him beautiful meals.
if you're a single person, it's typical to throw something together hastily and eat it on the run.
What's a chippy? A fish and chips eatery?
Yes coco. Its a fish and chip shop, you'll find one just about everywhere over here. It's more of a take out, rather than an eatery. Usually a small shop, with a couple of deep fryers and a warmer to keep everything in.
I remember the time when they used to wrap the chips up in newspaper but Thatcher soon stopped that, Health and Safety whatever. Now they wrap them up in plane paper.
Just had mini fish and chips from Sam's Chippy actually

I enjoy cooking for myself at times, kind of theraputic and relaxing. But then there are other days when i'll just go down the chippy. Steak and kidney pie and chips special with curry sauce, only 2 pound 30p!
