As many of you will know I just married Mary recently and love her more than life itself. But I travel a lot and that does bring certain opportunities. I have not done anything yet but who knows?
Looks like a dupe, smells like a dupe, is a .... ?

On another point mts, if you have been a jw all your life and saved yourself till marriage, then with respect you're sexually immature...like i was, like a good many of us were or are.
May be you need to get it out of your system, after all you can only learn by experience. But it sounds more like you're trying to catch up with something that you missed as a youth, more than anything else.
But then again i may be well off the mark (but i don't think i am ).

MTS, you sound very much like me 12 years ago.
There was a girl i was close to when my marriage was on the rocks. We were close friends, in the end nothing more happened but i did consider taking it further. I finished with my ex and decided to go it alone for a while to get my head straight, this was the best thing for me.
If you have split with your wife and it's over there is nothing wrong with moving on. As i have said calling it an affair is the JW mindset. If however you need people's advice on it, perhaps you are not ready and just on the rebound, or perhaps you think finding a new woman is going to solve all your problems.
There is a whole new world out there post JW's and post a bad marriage, don't make any rash decisions if you're unsure. If you're anything like i was you need a bit of time to sort your head out, in my case this was a couple of years.
Paul
Edit: If it's just a one night stand you're after what's the big deal? why take advice on it? Just go out on a Friday or Saturday night to any nightclub in Britain and it's there on the plate if you're up for it. From my own experience, believe me i have partied hard, it isn't going to make you feel better about you and your ex. Yes you've had a good night and maybe you need to get it out of your system. But waking up next to a stranger, who's name you have forgotten or didn't even ask, doesn't really make things better. In my case it was more about catching up with a lost youth than anything else.
havana (ap) - actor benicio del toro says protesters at the miami screening of "che" should have watched the film first.. del toro plays argentine-born ernesto "che" guevara, a hero of the cuban revolution and global icon.
he says the role was difficult and took a lot of time.. cuban exiles protested the movie in miami last week.
many opposed guevara for executions of officials from fulgencio batista's government, which was toppled in 1959.. but del toro says "a lot of the people protesting the movie hadn't seen it.".
People died under the Batista regime, people were dying throughout Latin America, due to the injustices and inequality of US led regimes. It doesn't take much research to see how the Batista regime operated.
Prosperity was uneven. For the sugar cane working who was unemployed half the year and discouraged from finding other employment so as to be available when the plantation owner needed him, life did not improve. Even though Cuba had the fourth highest standard of living in Latin America, that was not high. Besides, Cubans compared themselves to the US not Honduras or Bolivia. Illiteracy was high; schools too few; affordable medical care almost impossible for the average person to get; and housing substandard. Rural areas suffered more than urban areas because Cuban presidents had always feared the cities more. In short, social justice was a victim of the Batista years.
Whilst the Batista regime was prosperous due to sugar, this did not find it's way to those that needed it. To put it bluntly people died.
Guevara witnessed first hand the death of children, purely because of lack of medical treatment under US led governents throughout Latin America. At the end of the day killing is killing, murder is murder. But if you're going to put Guevera in this light, do it the context of the thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of deaths led by US backed regimes throughout Latin America.
History has shown and continues to show that continous US governments finds it a necessacity to get involved in other countries affairs, for their own interests. If revolutions and in turn deaths are the response to this, it should be of no surprise.

In middle of getting divorced
If you're in the middle of getting divorced it wouldn't be an affair as i take it you've split? This is jw mindset, if you have split up with your wife, even thought you're still married it is not an affair.
Just my thoughts

after years of fighting a physical disability that ended in kidney failure and several bouts of respiratory/cardiac arrestmy mom landed in the hospital last week.
the doc's said she needed heart surgery and kidney transplants but before they could operate they need to get her blood count back up.
it had fallen well below what her body could naturally restore on its own she she needed transfusions.
I am so sorry

i certainly do.. i have been debating with two jw's on another forum about the un issue.
i have produced so much evidence that the un did have their citeria of support when the wt society became an ngo, all from the un itself.
yet because the wt statements say that they didn't have that criteria and it was changed later the jw's refuse to believe anything else.. sometimes i think what's the point talking to these people.
Midwich! long time.
How am ya? lol
Paul
for those of you who have been here awhile... does it seem to you that there are more and more apostates showing up on this board, at a faster rate than in the past?.
Not really.
The board changes over time. It goes back and forth.
I remember a time when there were many here who were so anti witness, with venom. Any newbie who was still in and mentioned they were, seemed to be for a lashing.
That was many years ago though. To me the board has had many periods, for now it seems to be a happy medium for me.

Some good points made. I think i am going to bow out of the discussion i have had on the other forum as all the evidence from the UN is there for those that want to read it.
Besty, thanks for the info, i have never considered the "theocratic warfare strategy" before, it is a good opening line.
