In any event, the Bible says that a time 'free from care' is when the hammer drops, coinciding with Steve's research.
He doesn't suggest we live in a time 'free from care' ... if you'd have listened to his lecture he highlights the wars and genocides that have happened both this and the last century. He is arguing though that violence has declined, very different from saying we live in a time of peace.

This is an interesting lecture. One that flies in the face of current JW and I assume most non JW thinking. Evidence shows that when examining history mankind was more violent over the centuries than they were during the 20th and 21st Century. Pinker argues that we are just more savvy now when it comes to reporting, the idea that we live in a more violent society today is a myth and not supported by evidence.

The angle being taken over here on this guy is one of a lone madman. He is a Shia muslim, yet requested an ISIS flag who are Sunnis and been beheading Shias. It turned out he went into the cafe with the wrong jihadist flag and wanted it changing.
Even as Islamic Fundamentalist standards go the guy was clearly mentally deranged in wanting to fight under the banner of his Shia brothers enemies.

Christmas markets - apparently fine for JW's to attend

our friend an ex jw has just returned from a famous christmas market in germany, now my husband mentioned this to his mum as they have connections there.
she got all excited about how amazing the german christmas markets are there and how she would of def gone to one this year if she had the time!

Higher Education... Some ideas for those that think it is too late
by adjusted knowledge inso many witnesses lost the opportunity to pursue higher education in their youths.
perhaps it took decades for many here to leave and now feel it is too late.

I started a law degree at the age of 38, graduated this year at the age of 44. It was through a part time distance program. I have also done an online teaching certificate. I'm now studying a Masters.
I have recently been offered a few hours teaching law at the local college and hope to move into it full time within the next two years.
Take a look at the University of London International Programmes, it's very cheap in comparison to other schools and a world class university.

Bear in mind that Russell stated Jerusalem was destroyed in 606BC too, he counted the year zero in his calculations. When Rutherford in the 1920's realised that there was no year zero, that 1BC-1AD was one year not two, rather than moving the date from 1914 to 1915, he moved the date 606BC back to 607BC.

It's always puzzled me that it's called the World Series, yet nobody outside of the USA plays baseball. The nearest thing we have is a girls game called rounders :)
