I understand your need to let people know what happened, but honestly, it barely made a dent when it was fresh and exciting news 2 1/2 years ago, so whats the point? Active JW's who believe in it don't listen to a word of this stuff anyway, you must realize that.

Latest Book Study
by integ inat this weeks book study (which i attended for the first time in 6 months) the book is "united in worship of the only true god".
in paragraph 10 it talks about the united nation's, and not in any glowing terms either.
the paragraph condemns her and anyone who would be a part of her.

Visit From Elders
by laurelin init's been awhile since i've been on here.
due to death in the family, chicken pox in children and other nasty things.. i posted here awhile ago about things i had found the unsettled me.
i was due to have a visit from two elders and a lot of you gave me lots of help and encouragement.. well, the two elders visited and i have to admit that it was nothing like i expected.. they sat down, and told me straight away that there was nothing i could say or ask that would hurt me.

I remember being at the crossroads.....here's what I think
They try and get people into the religion, using people as one of the factors - "Look at the love of the friends..."..then when you have problems with the "loving" people they say "we are imperfect and all make mistakes"....an answer for everything...
For the record, I grew up in "the truth", was on the fast track to being an MS when I moved 3000 miles away to Seattle. Other than my parents, NOT ONE person has called to ask about us. They just tell nasty rumours and gossip about us. IT ISN'T THE TRUTH.

once an xjw, always an anti jw type thing?
since leaving the organization in 2002 i've done a pretty good job of moving on, making "worldy" friends, met up w/ some wonderful xjw's (princess and family), and really don't think too much about how much pain jw's have caused me.....but every now and then i find myself compelled to read this board for hours...look up new teachings that make no sense......so in a way i feel forever bound to the xjw world....which i'm not sure is a good thing or a bad thing.

I remember when we studied the Isaiah and Ezekial books, my wife and I would be looking at each other...truly bizarre books, it was as if everyone was on acid eating those silly explanations up....we would always have good conversations on the way home about silly it was.
