i mentioned in the past that my wife turned me in for apostasy and because of it she filed for separation ( she is too holy and spiritual to file for divorce) .she came home this afternoon and started packing a few things to move to an apartment.. i am still going to meetings but it is not enough for her, i reminded her of 1 cor 7 where it talks about a wife not leaving an unbeleiver as long as he is willing to stay with her but she says that does not apply to apostasy.
go figure!.
she is free to worship her god, i'm not stopping her but she has been blessed by the powerful gb who the witnesses exalts above god himself that tells them they have the right to leave a mate if it is spiritual endangerment.
Sorry to hear about this sspo. My ex tried to pull the same crap, and actually lost the battle, (she could not prove it to the elders). In the end though, if it's what she wants to do, she's going to do it, (she won the war). Although I know it's traumatic loosing a marriage of that many years, (mine was only 10, but that's enough), take some heart in knowing you can move on to a healthier situation. It really does get better.

The more the WTS is proved wrong the more the fear disipates. If only the WTS could be exposed out of existence, the fear of dying a Joehovers hands would be gone too.

The reproof is a singular, one time event. The lose of privileges goes on for a period of time.
True, but you have to "earn" your privleges back. If the elders don't see you at meetings, out on service, etc, the removal of privleges stays in effect.

If I remember correctly a public reproof is one step shy of being disfellowshipped. When on public reproof you lose all priviledges - commenting at meetings, saying prayer at meetings, giving talks, going in service, etc - but your not shunned.
Actually, you can still do service. All of the others apply, though.

Within a day or two. By the time I started to consider ex-jw sites, most of my decisions about the org. were already made. The folks here seemed friendly enough for me so the decision was easy.

Thinking about the WTS in a critical (but not hateful) manner. No religion should fear an open and honest discussion of it's practices, and I think that there is much of that going on here (but for some reason JWs don't like it that much?!).
That's exactly it. Anything that is critical of the WTS, seems hateful to the average jw. Most of us thought like that at one time or another. Jws are just not used to that sort of open forum, as it is not allowed in the org. Hopefully, if you stick around a bit, you will see that most of the persons here are not hateful, just honest. If there IS any hatred, it is usually only aimed at the entity of the org itself, and not the individual.

i've been on plenty of jcs but i never was the target of the elders, judicially.....although i would be now.
