How true! JWs have conditions many, if not most people never even heard of, like CFS. Depression and illness, (usually psychosomatic), are very big problems in the dubs.
j
while you were a jw, were you generally feeling ill?
------did you know of persons that were initially pretty healthy but got depressed and sick because they never felt they could do enough??
?

i was just wondering how many ex-jws still read wt literature and if so why.
i have noticed alot of posters here know what the lastest wt or awake magazines are talking about and i was just wondering why do you bother to read that stuff since you left the wt?
No. I don't even own anymore literature, except for a NWT and Reasoning book. I prefer the "clean house" method.
j
do you find youself still calling it "the truth" even though you are an ex-jw?
for instance, in one posting i just read, the poster wrote "when i was in the truth..." .
not a big deal, perhaps, but really not such a good thing either as it's a habitual holdover from the program of mental conditioning we were subject to.
No. I made an effort to eliminate that term from my vocabulary early after I left. Even when talking to jws, I'll use the term, "the Organization", or in a more negative connotation, "the Watchtower", (they hate that).
j
hi folks, .
i,ve been lurking for ages and had a password months ago.
only today i've been able to get in.
Welcome, DNC!
j
hello.
if you work in it, what exactly do you do, and did you go to school for it?
Oh, went to DeVry University in KC, with a degree in Telecommunications Management back in the early '90s.

I'm a network/systems engineer for a software company specializing in E911 telecommunications applications.

if you needed my background, this thread will tell it-.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/121888/1.ashx.
my wife recently asked me about not commenting at a wt study.. our discussion was the topic of this thread-.
OTWO, You are handeling this very well. Your wife is smart, she will come around when she is ready, (I can't help you with knowing "when" this is), but it will happen. My only advice is don't be toooo quick to "speed things up", if you don't have to, and from what it sounds like, you don't have to. My experience with this is, that people tend to loose their delusions only when something happens that forces change. Basically, "When one door closes, it will FORCE another open".
j
hey what's up everyone?
hope everything is going alright.
im not doing too bad, just relaxing and doing alot of thinking.
Congrats on getting out. I wish I had the presence of mind you have at your age. Keep posting!
j
oh.... how the saga goes on!!
i swear we could write a novel about our life exiting the watchtower!!
ok..many of you read what happened..our house was egged and so was my sisters car that was parked here, and "frosty" was attacked!!
Your situation is only two-heartbeats from the same attitude that is present when KKK burns a cross in a black families' yard IMO.
Amen. This is disgusting. Press charges.

it amazes me how jehovah's witnesses think.
same time it terrifies me to think that i thought in the same way.
Jeff, that letter is unbelieveable! I'm keeping that one.
