Wish I would have thought to do a google!
Yeah, too bad it didn't exist back in '88, (for me). Still, no excuse.

i like myself in a healthy way, i really do!
that's how my parents raised me.
but i wound up in a "i hate myself and i'm a miserable slimey worm that deserves to be annihilated" cult!
Oh, how painfully true.
An otherwise, intelligent and positive person gets sucked into that mess!
Hang in there Geramimo, it gets easier!
j
.
what do you think?.
i have a hard time accepting the fact that intelligent men truly beleive the creator has a special arrangement with them and somehow they are being used in a special position because of one scripture about the faithful and discreet slaves.. they should all be locked up in a nut house for beleiving that.
A LIAR KNOWS WHEN THEY HAVE LIED!!
Except, when they are delusional. Most in jw land are.

please make this less than 100 lines....
It's not until you actually study it, free from Watchtower, or other religious interpretation that you get the FULL picture. And a pretty picture it is NOT!
Very true, Gill. I'm really stuggling to come up with what parts DO make sense...

Welcome, BurnTheShips!
That analogy is the worst I've ever heard.

for those who didn't attend meetings for a while, imagine that you just walk into your kingdom hall 10 minutes before a meeting.
what would be their reaction?
Don't know, don't care, wouldn't go.

His posts do a very good job of exposing the weakness of his arguments. While he can often post an entire page, (sometimes close to a book), full of rhetoric, a simple common sense reply TO ONE SENTANCE of his drivel would make any lurker see the bias and nonsense of whatever point he is trying to make.

has anyone else heard these words from the platform?
"people say they want to live a "normal" life.
but nothing is "normal" in this world.
Partying, drinking, drugs, divorces, arguements, violence and happy that Jehovah protected me and my family from that.
Funny thing, I experienced almost all of those things to a MUCH worse degree inside the org, rather than outside!

i believe that the governing body, whether directly or by implication, will predict the great tribulation very soon.
1. they have predicted for a long time now that religion would be destroyed.
2. after the destruction of religion, gog and his hordes would attack the watchtower.
IF the elders already know about this, I doubt it is that major of an announcement. Organzational changes, probably, major ones? I dunno, depends on your definition of major. The GB think any change is "major", as would any high control group. I know my elder buddy would have told me something by now if this was of any real concern. He dosen't play by their rules, and if you ask me, I would say it's a matter of time for him.

here is an interesting link http://www.tjdefendidos.org/ and here is an english translation of the article on that site about apostates testimony.
is the testimony of apostates reliable?
sometimes, the mass media offer testimonies of people who used to be jehovah's witnesses as a means of finding out more about our religion.
Nevertheless, Jehovah’s Witnesses are usually more restrictive in their describing somebody as an apostate, because they do not give this name to someone who merely leaves his religion, but only to those whom, after leaving it, attacks it publicly.
Let me ask you this Third, if you voluntarily left believeing in something because you learned it to be false, wouldn't you wan't to share that with others? I hardly consider that an "attack".
