we were building a new kh- not quick build- and we had to vacate the old building and the new kh was not finished.
the elders decided to cancel all the meeting with the exception of the tuesday night bookstudy in homes.
we had no other meetings for about 4-5 weeks.

None, if you want him to give you an honest answer.

You're way off base here 3W. Not only does the WTS consider the UN "the disgusting thing that stands in an elevated place", a recent WT article pointed out that the "elevated" position it stands in will be in the form of REPLACEMENT of false religion at the beginning of the GT. If the WT goes as far as to consdier the UN a "replacement" for false religion, then that implies IT IS a "religion" of sorts, as far as the WT is concerned. Please don't try to use the excuse that somehow the UN is not currently in that status, so it dosen't matter. This is indeed how the WT views the UN. It is not THE POST OFFICE, FEMA, part of the SCHOOL SYSTEM, the JUDICIAL SYSTEM, WELFARE or SECTION 8. I said it before. You are intellectually dishonest.

i really fancy a cup of tea and a cake, maybe cos i am british?
Lunch. But I'm stuck in a hotel room in Chicago, waiting for the OK to check out, and get on a plane to go home. Customer was "unprepared" for my visit.

i remember that magazines and books came in faster than i could read, it was accumulating fast.
in my first years, i didn't dare throw away anything.
even later when i was starting to cool down, i still had mountains of books, magazines and brochures.
Yes, the magazines would just pile up if I didn't.

have you found times like christmas have lost that special feeling?.
i watch my family and they totally get into the spirit of it and i always feel as though i am sat 'outside' of some bubble or something, i enjoy it dont get me wrong but just not as much as they do.. also, are you less inclined to believe in supernatural or strange things and look for a rational explanation?.
i find i am slowly looking toward rational explainations for things and in the absense of them i just wait and see.
Also, are you less inclined to believe in supernatural or strange things and look for a rational explanation?
Yes. Probably to a fault.

in the congregation that we used to go to, and my parents and most of my relatives still do, very few had hobbies and interests other than being bound to the wtbts.. many made wine and brewed their own beer.
infact, all of my relatives are wine and beer makers.
there are a few gardeners, but i'm hearing how they are trying to grow their own grapes and fruit so that they can make their own wine!.
Certainly, hobbies are not encouraged, although not condemmed, either. I find myself that I can now enjoy them without the guilt that used to go along with pursuing them.

i seem to recall the wts teaching this many years ago.
the idea was that "apostacy" was the ultimate, unforgiveable sin, because it was.
tantamount to "sinning against the holy spirit".....does anyone recall hearing this idea, that "apostates", along with our buddy satan, will suffer.
It is common belief among Jehovah's Witnesses, however, that Apostates have "likely" sinned against the Holy Spirit, and will not likely ever repent and return to Jehovah's organization.I would be curious to know if this point has ever been raised in the magazines, it certainly is part of the "JW folklore", which suggests that the idea had to have emerged from the GB, Russell or Rutherford at some point in their history.
As far as I know, they have never been specific about what constitutes "sinning against the holy spirit".

We are in subjection to governments.
Where does the concept of "subjection" come into play with the WT's CHOICE to become an NGO?

is it harder to get reinstated after being df'd for apostasy than any other sin?.
i would imagine that if a jw admitted posting here over 10,000 times, that it could be difficult to be re-instated....lmao.
I know of one person, in a former cong that was able to do it, but only with major a$$ kissing. And this continued for the rest of their existence in the org.
