Never did phone witnessing, too embarassing calling on someone and offering literature or bible study
when i could not even see who i was talking to.
Would rather knock on doors!
well, couple days ago i got stuck with a brother doing phone territory!
man, i hated that!
i kept on wishing no one picks up the phone or it's a disconnected phone number or something.
Never did phone witnessing, too embarassing calling on someone and offering literature or bible study
when i could not even see who i was talking to.
Would rather knock on doors!
i just would like to open a little debate here on retirement and jws.
my mother, who is the breadwinner of the family, (dad's quite pathetic) is socking away money like mad for retirement.
i can't blame her, since i know she'll need it, but she's convinced that the end is so near.
"The end is near", it's something they say and repeat just to make themselves look " spiritual"
but down deep they know they might die and never see the new system like most of their
friends that have passed away. Your mother is just being wise, she knows the new system might not show up.

Funny thing is that the JW's are already saying that the Society is making this major move because
they feel the end is very close and they don't want to be right in the city.
Every decision the society makes it gives the witness a little charge, that the end has to be around the corner,
it's been going on for 140 years..........very sad indeed.
since the meaning of life has change for most of us here, i thought it would be interesting to hear your answer to this question now.. for me, the meaning is to be close to family and friends, enjoy life as much as possible and follow my heart while being as good person i can be.. your turn.

.
Solomon was right when he said there is no difference between us humans and animals.
Our mission is to pass our genes to the next generation.
Eat, drink and enjoy life while you're doing it!
We all end up 6ft under.
No one has come back from the after life to tell us otherwise.
i was speaking with a lady today & found out she's been a nurse in the blood transfusion unit at our hospital for the past 15 years.
i said, "i have an off-the-wall question for you...i was having a discussion with somebody about jehovah's witnesses.
i know they're not allowed to get blood transfusions but they can get fractions, right?
Try telling that to any JW that they are actually getting blood and it you will not get a response. Brain dead!
i'm not a witness, but i have to ask..... what happens after you leave?
do you turn against all religion or do you find another?
people say they're happy when they leave...that they feel free, but i'd hate to think that people give up on everything religious.. if you do stay religious, how many doctrines of the jws do you retain?
Since i see no evidence of God ( maybe, maybe only in creation?) in the involvement of mankind there is no reason to worship him according to
holy books written by men and being brainwashed once more.

Jehovah's Witnesses convention expected to pump $100M into Hawaii's economy
HONOLULU - HONOLULU (AP) — The Hawaii Tourism Authority calculates delegates to the Jehovah's Witnesses convention at the Hawaii Convention Center to spend about $100 million.
HTA Vice President David Uchiyama says the projection is based, in part, on 161,000 hotel room nights. He says the spending figure includes nearly $10 million in tax revenue.
Organizers expect more than 30,000 delegates to attend the convention. That includes as many as 8,000 from Hawaii.
Spokesman David Fitzgerald says the convention's two sessions are scheduled to run Nov. 19-22 and Nov. 26-29.
Delegates are coming from around the world, including Australia, Canada, Denmark, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Switzerland and Taiwan.

im working on my exit strategy out of the watchtower org.
ive set my mind to be out by the end of 2010 or mid 2011. .
id like to avoid getting df and disassociating my self is also an undesirable option.
I was also an elder for over 20 years, very , very active as you are but eventually once i found out about
"the truth" and spoke to my ex about it, she turned me in to the body and eventually she left on "spiritual endangerment".
Continued to go to the meeting, tricked the elders so i would not get DF and moved to a Spanish congr., after 2 months i stopped going
and have not heard from anyone in two years.
You can also play " the depression card ", stress and so on which enables you to slow down in your activities and slowly
fade. The only question, are you able to trick your wife?
after almost a year of internet dating on various sites, i've concluded that it's not the place for me to meet the man of my dreams.
anyway, i'm happy i've given it a shot and i've gained lots of experience and even made a few male friends.
anyone here who's had better luck?.
No, it's been two years but then i don't try too hard to meet people.
Waiting for that perfect woman!
