  Bookstudy moved to Saturday am

  i heard that one of my local congo is going to experiment with moving all the bookstudys to saturday mornings just before fs.

  can't tell if this is just a local thing or part of something bigger happening in the org.

  anyone know?

  Marriage in a newly divided household

  i feel like there are now 3 persons in my marriage-me, my mate and the watchtower society.

  we used to think alike on most things.

  but now every coversation ends in an argument.

  I am where you are but just in a worst situation. As a family in the truth we were the most examplary and did it all for Jehovah and the friends in the cong.

  Now that i found out about all the lies of the watchtower, well, I spoke way too much and too fast that i have been labeled an apostate by my wife, taken before the elders and got divorce papers from my wife after 26 years of marriage.

  So if you want to save your marriage, take your time and bite your tongue when you really want to blow up.

  The real impact of "apostate" sites

  in a recent discussion with a couple of district overseers and other heavies , the topic of the internet and apostate sites came up.

  i asked what impact these were making , numerically , among jws.

  the prevailing view was that , numerically , there was negligible impact.

  How would the DO and CO know about the effect of the internet.

  They did say many fade, those that fade do not reveal why.

  Feel sorry for DO and CO and their wives, many being in the work for decades and they have to continue with the same story about the end being "just around the corner"

  I wonder how many of them still beleive that.

  Would they quit, where would they go after such a huge investment?

  Do not be surprised if the society will get rid of their own website. What good does it do when someone is googling it and comes across hundreds of apostate webs.

  Talking to many pioneers in many states and they all say the same thing, they do start studies but after 3-4 lessons they drop out, so it's very hard to have someone to finish a book.

  What i notice at meetings if there is a new one attending it might be a foreign speaking lady maybe with no access to the internet.

  So definetely the internet is having an effect

  What Great Resources Apostates Have - Created Bottom Up, Not Top Down!!

  a couple of things got me thinking today.

  i was reading jgnat's thread on responses to elders, and it reminded me of the reasoning book in some ways.

  then i got to thinking about having access online to all of the elder's letters for decades, and websites with wts literature, copies of the un letter on the wts being a ngo and so much more.

  STOPPED BY THE KH IN ROCK HILL SC

  i went down to help my daughter move back here and while there i stopped by the kh.

  they were cleaning up the lawn and parking lot.

  another car drove up beside me about the time i got out.

  i'm nearly 45 years old, an entirely different person than i was when i was df'd at 25 years of age.

  i haven't had a phone call, no letters, no jw visits.

  my parents don't call, nor my siblings.

  Could it be a completely new body of elders after 20 years and no one knows you?

  Have they lost the paperwork on you/?

  Or it could be that truly the body of elders have other things to worry about but the df's one.

  Was an elder for 21 years and the df's were never our prioritty and we never talked about them and after so many years no one remembers you

  I'd like to introduce myself

  i'm "alpheta".

  i've been reading here for the past few weeks, but have visited from time to time over several years.. short history, i started studying in 1993, was baptised in 1996, and succinctly and with much planning disassociated myself in october, 2003.. i don't believe i have any lasting psychological damage or issues, but i was curious about the state of the wtbts (or whatever they go by these days), and i found your site and a lot of information that, i have to say, i found shocking at first like - oh my goddess, they really did that?

  - kind of thing.. anyway, nice to have read your posts and i really enjoy the sense of community here.
