My first 10 years were good and then the last 15 not so good.
I don't know if there is a formula
Sorry
i have been married a year and a half, and everyone says the first year is the hardest.
well, the crappyness seems to be creeping right on into the second year.
i thought it was suppossed to get easier each year.
My first 10 years were good and then the last 15 not so good.
I don't know if there is a formula
Sorry
i married into a witness family 5 years ago.
i am now divorced and out of that family.
when i got married my now ex husband was disfellowshipped at the time.
Now, are living with your boyfriend?
If you are and you have never proved your husband adultery, the elder visiting might turn you in for living with him or eventually if you marry him and you are not free scripturally, you will be df.
If that's the case might be best not to have the couple visit at all.
ok, i'm now da'd as many of you already know.
it's so fresh that my stomach turns everytime the subject comes up about religion.
however, something that does puzzle me a bit.......is how do you answer people when they ask you the question "what religion are you?
How about i'm spiritual but not religious.
See what their reaction is.
a friend of mine who is df'd is seriously considering trying to get reinstated in order to have his family back in his life.
this is not an easy decision because he's fully aware that this isn't "the truth", but the pain of being excluded from normal family relations is really tearing him.
he has two choices: either move away from his family and try and start a new life, or bite the bullet, try and get reinstated and then do the fade.
Truly, it is his decision to make, it is one that he has to live with.
All the so called wisdom everyone on this board is giving are nothing but opinions.
If he makes the wrong decision at least it was his not ours.
.
i seem to remember someone here posting a link to a company that ran retirement homes for active dubs.
could someone point me in the direction to find it please.
New world society retirement complex
i have a friend in my congregation.
he's completely indoctrinated, and genuinely believes everything the organisation teaches, but he's still a good person, and he stands up for things when he knows somethings wrong.
as you can imagine, this often causes problems, and there is an arrogant elder who he has had many run ins with in the past.
If he is just a humble publisher, the last thing he wants to do is write to the society. He will be marked by the elders as a troublemaker and will take years to build or clean his record. The body of elders holds the big stick and eventually they will use it against him.
Let him call in a humble way another elder in the congregation who is fair and reasonable and explain the situation is going thru and see what happens.
If the elder agrees with his fellow elder i suggest your friend to drop the whole thing otherwise they will make his life miserable if he goes against their counsel.
this morning, i drove through yellowstone park, on my way to jackson hole.
just before noon, i saw a sign that said, west thumb geyser basin.
it looked interesting, so i wheeled in.. after seeing the geysers, i noticed a couple people sitting behind a desk with a display beside them.
I see them constantly inside shopping centers. They get a table and load it up with all kinds of literature.
Usually it is old timers, retired and pioneering, easy way to get your time in.
Funny things in these shopping centers there are 1000's of shoppers, not once have i seen anyone interested enough to stop and inquire excpet me to shoot the breeze with them.
i'm in the market for a new laptop and the convertable tablet has caught my eye.
gateway recently came out with a 14" widescreen laptop/tablet that is a stunner.
anyone have or uses a tablet pc and what do you think of it?
HP pavillion, had it for over 3 years, had to replace hard drive once but overall i have been happy with it.
awake to the watchtower
most individuals on this discussion board probably had.
a number of low key warnings regarding whether or not.
always putting down every one as bad association if not a JW.
Yet when dealing with "worldly people" at work, most of them were respectful of your belief, their morals were just as good as any JW, they truly were good people trying to make a living and taking care of their families.
Not everyone was immoral or sleeping around with everybody.
why do so many catholics become jws ?
i know a lot of them were not very strong or practicing catholics but the wt does seem to draw them, especially when they are so critical of them and the pope.
you would think it would put them off.. is it because the are so different or the same???????????.
I was catholic, it is the easiest religion to disprove.
They don't use the bible to prove their beleif,
They have the Pope as a ruler, call him the MOST HIGH
they call their priest "father"
They bow down to statues and we know the bible talks against idol worship
They pray to SAINTS and many other things.
The average catholic does not know much about the bible so the JW's can easily convince them.
Interestingly though even in die hard catholic countries such as Italy and south america, there is no increase at all with the JW's
These countries used to average a 10% increase every year, not anymore, Jw can preach as much as they want, they cannot match the internet and the exposure of the organization..
