Two witness question

hebrews 10:28, mat 18:16, dt 19:15. are these the source for the rule that requires two witnesses before believing something happened?

same chapter of dt as (21) soul will be for soul, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, fot for foot.

it certainly looks like this is intended to protect from false witness, not as a get out of jail card for the perp.

Is your non dub partner/spouse curious?

after hearing all about my life and experiences as a jw, my non-jw spouse was curious.

that is how she found this site and how i found it.

the doctrinal crap really pisses her off, especially because of what it does to families.. i did have a family member who was molested many years ago but do not know the details nor the outcome.

.....according to my father.. he decided to talk to me today about my meeting attendance.

i haven't been to one in 3 months by the way.

so he goes on to give me the usual.."you know where you're supposed to be 3 times a week"......."you're not taking full advantage of jehovah's provisions"....."you shouldn't let anyone discourage you to the point of missing meetings"....that type of stuff.. he then went on to say that if you aren't taking full advantage of what jehovah provides then you're worshipping satan instead of jehovah.

My wife has pretty much gotten used to the lack of family, the shunning, the nightmares I have sometimes, and the glazed over look I get when one of the wt switches goes off in my head.

However, when we were first together, she had a hard time with all of it. She comes from a very tight, large family, and the fact that we are shunned by my parents, was very hard for her to understand.

At the hall last night

i went to the hall last night to get an insight book and a concordance.

i had set it up with an elder ahead of time to get them.

i arrived after the meeting had ended, walked up to the counter anxious to leave as quickly as i came when a big brother came up to me, planted his body in between me and the literature servant and started giving me the third degree about who i am, what is my standing in the congregation, and what did i want the books for.
