  remember that guy from watchtower.cc who was in here the other day claiming that his site was "protected by a federal judge" and that he knew of a legal case where the "watchtower was going down?

  How Much The WTS Pays To Print And Distribute Its Magazines Per Item

  on another thread i gave a what-if situation using 10 cents per magazine although i'm thinking that with the cost of the printing presses and software factored in it could be more.

  i was told by a reliable source that the organization will be making a "big announcement" at the end of the summer when all the dcs have ended.

  has anyone else heard this?

  maybe this is the "new light" they have alluded to in recent wt study articles?

  I remember one CO commenting casually "Isn't it interesting that the Society hasn't planned next year's convention site yet? They always do that well in advance, but not this year. Makes you wonder if they know there's no need..."

  I had someone, a CO too I believe, tell me the same thing back in the early 70's.

  The end must be soo. Any day now. Yup, almost now.

  Would I really want to be in the "new world" anyway...

  this morning in the shower i was thinking about why it is that jw's preaching (like i used to do) about a paradise with no wickedness really bothers me.

  if jw's are right and god is going to destroy the majority of people so that just those who happened to live at the right time, in the right place, etc.

  can live forever with a couple of men telling me, a woman what to do, no thanks.

  what has come back to me and what i have realized through this website is that my mother was probably mentally very sick with this religion for most of her life.. it was a sickening obsession to obey, tattle, feel extreme guilt, turn in family members, and never, ever measure up no matter what she did.

  endless months of pioneering, meeting attendance and studying for meetings were not enough .....ever....she is now 73 years old and still trying to pioneer in the exhausting heat of florida.

  in her full time pioneering days she came down with breast cancer.

  My parents, both long time dubs are now in their 70's. My mother refuses to leave her room unless it's meeting time, and my father, 73 years old, just sold their house so that they can spend more time selling watchliar mags, rather than cutting the grass, lounging on the back deck, etc. Guess now they'll be moving in with my ex....

  Sick bunch, if you ask me.
