  Can a JW still get bound volumes?

  i know this question exposes my current ignorance of the organisation, but are pubs still allowed to purchase hardbound wt and awake bvs?.

  i have always enjoyed a tactile piece of printed material in my hands as opposed to an impersonal cd.. thanks,.

  How Passive-Aggressive Behavior Defeats the Watchtower

  years ago, there was perhaps the most pathetic jw funeral talk in the whole history of the watchtower.. an old bethel brother named adam baurlein ( sp, not sure) had died.

  he had a long history of alcoholism and misbehavior.. he had been at bethel so long that bethelite sons of former bethelites would inquire "dad, did you know this really old guy.

  who drinks and tells dirty jokes?".

  If a person is inclined to read business non-fiction, (I know, I'm weird) super-investor Jim Rogers wrote a great book entitled "Adventure Capitalist". In this book, I was amazed at how Rogers hated the shell games that alot of NGOs perpetrate for money. He described how they line up for library and feasibility studies monies while doing nothing to alleviate suffering of the poor. When I read this I was reminded of a page on Kent Steinhaug's site of the WT in France asking for books to be donated for a library in Africa.

  I began to correspond with Jim through email and he strongly suggested that I locate the financials of the NGO. He also added that these might not be transparent.

  I dont have the time I used to have to devote to anti-WT causes, but this could be a potential wellspring of information. Obviously, they wont be structured the same as they were from 1992-2001.

  But it is apparent that they are riding that old scarlet colored wild beast again under somebody's umbrella! Especially after this recent Awake!

  i am, right now, watching vh-1's history of the jacksons and in particular, the charges filed against him.. they just showed how mrs. jackson became a devout jw, showed the kh, and a few wt mags.

  then, without expecting it, there was bill bowen!

  talking about the epidemic of abuse in this church.

  I have actually been so busy at work that I havent had much time for just about anything.

  I was approached by one of my biggest clients about a major business deal. I have been writing a marketing and business plan and have been so strapped for time that I hardly recognize my family anymore!

  Keep on giving them hell!

  Hi Steve.

  It's been awhile since I've posted. Just wanted to add my 2 cents.

  You always come across as a class guy on this board.

  I still dont share much about my life (I hide on other's threads :) ), but just wanted to mention that my youngest son is totally out and my oldest and his wife just play the game because of her family.

  In fact, we had 12 people at our house for Thanksgiving dinner. We were beaming!

  We have grown together on this board and I wish you and Joyzabel-Happy Holidays!
