How does a typical JW that has been in the organization many years prepare for a typical Sunday meeting? What happens if they don't?
A double scotch neat seemed to work best for me. If I didn't do this, it was harder to fall asleep.

Would you submit to a "voluntary" search?...
by Justice-One inexample....a cop pulls you over for a broken taillight or some other very minor infraction.
he says he is just going to give you a warning, then says something like...."hey, you don't have any rockets or explosives in your trunk do you?
" you of course say no, then he says "mind if i look?

Of course, I must note that police are usually given the benefit of the doubt in regards to what constitues "probable cause," so it is not hard at all for them to come up with some sort of probable cause (they can simply say they smelled a "suspicious odor" which resembled pot) to justify a warrantless search if they want to search anyway. The scope of a warrantless search is generally limited to the area "under the immeadiate control" of the driver and/or passengers, though that gets kind of fuzzy as well.

Pretty close. The bottom line is that using the "grabable area" excuse, they can pretty much search your entire car with or without your say so. However this does not apply to the locked trunk unless they already have, or a drug dog has given them probable cause. And it is my understanding that they will need a warrant to get into a locked box or safe that you have in your car.

but why on earth on a prime time slot would j leno start asking j denver about jw's?
and i don't think j leno is a particularly spiritual guy or wt supporter is he?

crisis of conscience
by cyrus inhi all ,got my copy today read 90 pages already ,so far very interesting and an eye opener rutherford comes across as a very dishonest man and a dictator.
knorr comes across as very insecure.anyway back to it .have fun and i will let you know as i read more .dan

But I think that is what a crisis of conscience is all about, really; a sudden, sharp realization that forces reexamination of allegiances.
Now THAT is a clear and concise statement. It is also the reason why it is very difficult if not impossible to get a JW to act on the real "truth" when you put it right in front of them. Hopefully all these small tidbits of the Orwellian world they live in will one day gel into their very own crisis of conscience, but they have to find the path themselves. It is very hard for most. I can still remember the day the I realized I was going to die, and that the JW's did not have the truth.

no one person had the authority to effect change so the majority ruled.
Make that a super majority. 51 percent on a vote was not good enough, it had to be two thirds. Thousands of JW's went to jail instead of doing non-military service because of a few votes. More than half of the GB thought non-military service was OK.

I remember an Elder once saying from the platform that an upcoming memorial should be viewed like another meeting. We should come even if we did not know the sister. After all, we would not want to make the family (who were not in the truth) think we did not LOVE this sister

Is the Reasoning Book being studied again?

does anyone know whether they are going through that book in the tms or service meeting?.

Oh and the newest is if you have a large amount of cash on you , you will be arrested for probable cause .
Unless something has changed, I think they actually for lack of a better word, "arrest" the cash. But it comes down to they just take it, and then you have to prove you came by it honestly.
WHAT A LOAD. BTW, this is another reason to have a locked Pelican Case in your car or truck.
