Yeah thats some question. Its like she should be begging for him to die as soon as possible because then he will be resurrected for sure. What a twisted thought process the WTS gives to people. My mom used to beg my "unbelieving" father to quit smoking all the time and one day I said that very thing to her, " wouldn't you rather that Dad keep smoking so he dies and then will be ressurected" I think I blew her mind for a second, but it wore off.

No Resurrection For Disfellowshipped?
by ThomasCovenant insorry if this has been covered already.. 1) what is the written policy about disfellowshipped ones having a resurrection?.
2) what if the disfellowshipped one is d'd for apostasy?.
reason i ask is an ex elder who was disfellowshipped for apostasy is very ill and may very likely die soon.

I came home to find my wife crying over THAT article.
by jambon1 ini came home today to find my wife crying whilst reading the 'when a loved one leaves jehovah' article.
its been a good few months now and i can appreciate how she feels.
but it just irritates me how my disagreeing with this religion has such a catastrophic effect on our everyday lives.

I also wondered what my mother would think when she got around to reading the article. How would she react to how the WTS is spinning my decision. Also I sympathize with you Jambon because growing up in a home where my father was an "unbeliever" (great father and provider) I was told my father would die in Armegeddon which was going to happen in a few years at most. How did that make me feel about my father? The man I looked up to the most. Its so fucked up, the best thing you can do is just be happy you've seen the light sooner than later. It may be hard right now, but hopefully that will change. Good Luck.

My first blood donation
by sass_my_frass in... has been scheduled.
i've been to the clinic to watch mr frass donate, and it was pretty confronting.
still i've realised that if i'm happy with taking blood, i should be happy to give it too, so i'm going to become a donor.

I was dfed in 98 but didn't give blood until 2004 even though I never really had any objections too it (raised Jdub). I was talking to my mother a few months ago and somehow it came up and she was shocked. I told it felt good to do it because it may save someones life one day and she told me that my blood was sacred and that I have sinned. I remembered then what a big deal it was for the dubs.

My Story..... Need advice on reinstatement Letter.
by jrjr4189 ini've been a member of the site for a month, but have been reading the posts for a lot longer, however this is my first post.
i was raised a j-dub by my mother (my father wasn't religious) with my sister and brother.
i was pretty much convinced by my dub friends, bible study conductor, and mother that i should get baptized when i was 15 and decided to go for it.

Everybodys comments helped me so much. There are however a few things I would like to make more clear. 1) My wife is a complete agnostic who has no faith in any religion, as I do at this point. She knows all about the J-Dub religion, as I have not hidden anything from her. She thinks they are the coldest religion on earth and cannot believe the shunning from family, in her words, " I feel like puking when your cousin gives me hug and kiss and won't even look at you." The thing is, she is savvy enough to understand what I'm doing and supports it. She wants me to play the game if I'm willing to put up some of the bullshit. 2) I will not let the elders invade my personal life and I will lie at any point to counter their arguments. When we have children we will let our children decide they have any interest in Watchtower Organization. Trust me, they won't after what we show and tell them. 3) If I did get d'fd again,,,, SO WHAT. Thats where I am right now. Any comments about this I will appreciate. At least I know I can always come here for some venting and support. You guys rule. JR

I'm really appreciative for all the support and criticism so far. One thing I would like to clarify is that my wife not a witness.
She is very knowledgable about the Watchtower Organization and their policies. She supports the decision to get reinstated and knows that its all just so I can associate freely with family members (like attend my sisters wedding).
I plan to get reinstated and fade into an innactive existence. I know one poster said that he detests hypocrisy and I couldn't agree with you more. Its just that now that the Watchtower Org is a hypocritical organization I feel that if I became reinstated, that there is no hypocrisy. I want to enjoy this life on earth right now, and I would like to have a relationship with my mother and sister even though it may be a bit fake. I know its fake and that the org is fake and to me thats what matters.

Hi everyone, I've been a member of the site for a month, but have been reading the posts for a lot longer, however this is my first post. I was raised a j-dub by my mother (my father wasn't religious) with my sister and brother. I was pretty much convinced by my dub friends, bible study conductor, and mother that I should get baptized when I was 15 and decided to go for it. Not more than 3 months after I got baptized I really lost interest in going to the meetings and spent more time hanging out with my friends from high school. After a few months I started dating a few girls and got a girlfriend. I tried not to do anything sexually with her but after a few weeks I just decided that I wanted to and I didn't care about the consequences. After dating my girlfriend for a year I got a call from an elder that wanted speak with me and when they asked me point blank if I was sleeping with her, I was honest and told them. I was disfellowshipped in 1998 right after I graduated from High school. I then went to college and would come back to my home in the summers and be shunned by diffrent family members and it would bother me. However since my father was not a dub, I never recieved any harsh shunning from my immediate family except for not being able to attend my sisters graduation party. After college I got engaged and married to my wife who was actually the girl I was disfellowshipped for sleeping with 8 years ago. After I was married I got a call from the local elders wanting to speak with me. At this time I was sporadically attending meetings to please my mother. I met with them at the kingdom hall and they told me that since I am married now, what I was disfellowshipped for was cleaned up in my life and that I could write a letter telling them this and reinstatment should occur. This brings us to 4 months ago. I never really questioned any doctrine because I just believed it was the truth. I had heard from some ex jdubs about bath sarim, and 1975 but never investigated it for myself. I am so happy that I decided to look into it for myself. This message board is the most uplifting thing I have found out there. After watching the jeremiah films documentary on Jehovahs witnesses, I decided to read Crisis of Conscience, and Ray Franz's insight and knowledge on how the whole organization is run blew me away, not to mention the history behind the watchtower org. Up until a month ago I believed that i was doomed to die in an Armegeddon. Now I feel at peace to know that "the truth" is what you believe it to be. I never realized how much the watchtower organization controls how the scriptures are interpreted. I feel removed of all the guilt that the organization put on me and all of the fear of not living up to the Watchtower Orgs standards. That being said. My mother, sister, cousins, Aunt, Uncle, and Grandmother are J dubs. The ones that talk to me keep telling me to send in my letter. "Hurry up and get reinsated" they say. Even though I totally do not believe the doctrine or want to be a part of the organization I think I may get reinsated just so I can associate freely with my family. I really need some help sorting these things out and would appreciate any support or even critiscm of my situation. Also, If anybody here has written a succesful reinsatement letter I would love to see it if you still had it. Thanks in advance, JR

My sister had scoleosis and decided to have rods put into her back to make her straight. She had the bloodless surgery done in 2002 and it was a success. I remember my father having a big problem with the bloodless surgery thing but because my sister was 19 there was nothing he could really do. Thank god it turned out ok.
