Did your Kingdom hall ever cancel meetings?
by moshe inwe were building a new kh- not quick build- and we had to vacate the old building and the new kh was not finished.
the elders decided to cancel all the meeting with the exception of the tuesday night bookstudy in homes.
we had no other meetings for about 4-5 weeks.

I got to see 'Floyd three times and a great tribute band, Aussie Floyd late last year.
I missed them in 94 because my parents thought i was a little too young for Floyd concert (whatever). However, I saw David Gilmour at Radio City Music Hall in April and it was amazing. It was very surreal because he is my favorite artist of all time right beside Liz Phair.

What Dub Habits have you kept?(On accident or on Purpose?)
by mama1119 in.
i think that when you are in a cult like the dubs, things stick with you whether you want them to or not.
i still pray before meals and bedtime...anybody else?

I grew up in a family where the husband/father was not a JW so we were "ordered" to do many things like go to a wedding at a church, miss the meetings, attend Christmas parties, celebrate Halloween.
Same here. Oh and I also got to play little league and basketball, go to school dances, and was ordered to go to college, not pioneer. I was one of the lucky ones. However, my sister didn't listen and is still living at home, and pioneering in her mid twenties. I wish there was something I could do.

in the US where it is voluntary, you will be considered having DA'd yourself.
Blondie,
There was a question from readers where they talk of a woman being told to vote by her unbelieving husband and it being said that it was concience matter. So I guess what there saying is that only women can vote if they have an unbelieving mate in voluntary countries?

I think the worst of all is that I sometimes dream I'm a witness again, and in certain situations that I don't agree with like placing watchtowers or having to tell people why I don't celebrate christmas.

It isn't a habit per se, but I don't vote and probably never will.
Isn't that a conscience matter now? No, seriously I have voted in the last two presidential elections and have been on my best friends case to do so who has faded. He dosen't vote because he still holds onto to some ideas of not being part of the world. I told hm that the witnesses now believe this is a conscience matter because I read a post on here from questions from readers or something talking about it.
My question is would a brother be dissed for voting right now?

Do you rather an automatic or manual transmission?
by JH in.
my first cars were all "manual" and they were small cars, cheap on gas.. then later on in life, i spoiled myself and bought automatic cars.. last week, i tried a manual yaris, and wasn't that comfortable with the manual transmission.
maybe it's the fact that i didn't drive a manual car in 6 years.. just wondering if anyone here after driving automatic transmission cars since many years, if you would come back to manual..

78, 24, 22, every single highway I'm ever on around here, quite honestly!
Ouch 78 is a rough go. I deal with 80 everyday and let me tell you... its no picnic.

I prefer automatic, since I'm a coffee sipper in traffic quite often.
What traffic are sitting in? I-80, GSP, Turnpike? or are you southerner?

I know I am a "Honda Whore!"
I just recently became one myself. We bought a CRV in May and I bought my Civic in July. I was a Nissan man.....I got sick of the rust.
