  As you can see by now, you are welcome here......

  I'm pretty new also to this site....I lurked for a while, but just couldn't stay quiet about what i'd been through, i'm sure you feel the same....gotta share, gotta help other people see the lies.

  You are probably feeling the same things most of us did when we first posted.....and i'm sure you've also quickly realized you have finally found some people who are REAL, who understand what it's like. There are LOTS of us here who feel the same.... and also LOTS who have uniquely different stories to tell. Enjoy it all. This is a difining moment in your (soon to be much more) wonderful life.

  Hey I got chased a few blocks by a mob of crazy jews back when I was at Brooklyn too!

  It was in 1978 or 79, we were doing a special tract work, but it sounds like the same time you had. It was written about in 'Watching the World'. Some in my old cong. in Brooklyn Bensonhurst got beat-up pretty bad, and a couple of cars were overturned, but I made it back to bethel safely. Oh yea...fun times....I miss those days like I miss having a heart attack.

  Special Assembly 2-Day 2,000 delegates and TWO baptisms!

  just got back from the special one day assembly and had to share this important info.

  only two baptisms today; two girls about 15-16 out of 2,000 attendees.. i stumbled more than two with my anti-witnessing.

  i posted un expose material in the bathrooms along with pre and post nov 1995 1914 generation belief.. incidentally, attendance was down almost 25% over last year as well.

  What the hell is a "re-dedication"? I've never heard of such a thing in the witness world! (?) I can't believe it would be something encourage. Has anybody else heard of this?

  As far as what is said from a do, co, po, etc.........does anybody else think it's just plain silly how much time and effort the borg puts into making sure that they have COMPLETE CONTROL over what's being said to JW's anywhere, anytime?! I mean just think about it....it's freakin' goofy how they can't just let people (who they know are absolutely watchtower loyalist) speak freely from their heart! Totally amazing....what a controling cult.....

  When I first left, I called them "cult-like"....now I know better! Juni, it's interesting that you mention drinking kool-aid. I saw a National Geographic documentary last night about Jim Jones and his ideas, along with how Jonestown came about and then the murder/suicide of everyone there....very similar mind-control stuff as the dubs! A little freaky to think we were all in something so close to them! GYMBOB

  Oh yea, I got asked to the back room first back in 80' for growing a mustache, our CO showed up with one so I thought it would be ok....wrong!

  Then in the early 90's I grew a nice , well-trimmed beard for a couple weeks, that got the elders so pissed off at me, but what are they going to do read me a scripture? Which one?! HAHA!! I shaved it off, but made my point, what a stupid rule!

  Then right before I left I started wearing a shirt and tie with a nice sweater to the meetings (how REBELIOUS!! OOOOH!!) got lots of bad looks but no elder dared go there....what a BS cult!!

  Sorry to hear about you dad, but you're not alone....mine, and MANY others are just the same way and it's sooo frustrating to try and talk to them, isn't it?? Especially when you've known a man your whole life and then he comes up with the STUPIDIST reason for believing anything from the society when it's so clear what the right course is!

  Let's just get something straight about 1975.

  nobody ever said that the end was coming in 1975.. all the hype about this date that has continued all the way down through today came from a talk in the early 70's by fred franz.

  in this talk, franz pointed out the significance of the 7 creative days and how they correspond with 1,000-year time intervals.. he then said, "could the end come in 1975?

  there's so much wrong with jehovah's witnesses from their rigid legalism to their faux love, but let's call a spade a spade about the 1975 thing..

  Ok so the society never EXACTLY said it....the real point is: If it DID come in 1975, would the WTB&TS be able to say (with proof), "Look, we told everybody this was going to come years ago!" ? WELL??? Of course they could!! End of discussion....
