Good point Lisa....
I remember when the elders wanted to talk to my daughter in the back room about a party she attended, I was right there with her. I should have just told them to mind their own business.
i recently got a e-mail from a 1/2-in-the-truth witness youth who referred to the "back-room" club...anybody ever heard of this before?
is this a new witness youth expression?.
she's 15, and i think she was referring to being asked by the elders to come back in the back room at the hall after the meeting for counsel.

while you were in the truth did you meet or know of any straight jw's.
i once met this brother who was married, that in itself was a dead give away, occassionally he would turn up in a brown suit smelling of very cheap aftershave (secret christmas pressie i bet)that was another clue.
anyway one day i found out this straight brother beat his wifde and kids, and regularly.
You sound like a gossipy old woman (no offense to old women).....:)
recently, a former witness expressed his opinion to me that he knew more than a few witnesses that were gay.personally, i know of a bisexual ex-elder who was unhappily married for a few years.
now he's "out", pardon the pun, of the organization.
i know of a newly appointed ms who is married to a sister but most people suspect he is gay.

I'm not gay, and I don't want to be gay. Do you know why? Because I like having sex with my wife! That doesn't mean I have anything against gays, or anyone who wants to be in a same-sex relationship.... I'm just NOT GAY.
I'm sorry that the world in general (and the WTB&TS) don't share the same views. They judge homosexuality as wrong, and that is wrong in itself. But just because people talk about gays ("Did you know of any "Gay" or Bisexual JWs???", the title of the thread, remember?) doesn't mean we have a problem with it.
You can lighten up too.

no matter if you are tired, sick, worked late, heavy snow,or any other reason, you were never to miss the meetings.
i went to a 2 day assembly with 4 teeth pulled the day before.
my gums were bleeding all day but i still went to the assembly .there was a brother who was in a bad car accident the week before with his daughter in a coma.
I got in a car accident on the way to the meeting once.
It was a bit more than a fender-bender, but nobody went to the hospital. After the police report was taken, off I went to the hall in my banged-up van, trying not to be late...what a idiot I was.
If i'd only known then what I know now....I could have milked that accident into months of missed meetings!

Did anyone say there was something wrong with being gay, or acting fem, like, uh, comparing it to saying all black men are "muggers"? Lighten up....

What the hell is a "rent boy"??
you've heard of gaydar what about j-dar?
do you seem to have the instinctive ability to detect when other jws are present by subtle clues others around you miss?
i recently sleuthed out a male jw young adult living in our building.
A few years ago I spotted a couple one morning at a corner store getting coffee before they headed for service. So while they were in front of me in line waiting I asked them if they were headed "out in service"? You should have seen the looks they gave me since it was obvious from the hair on my chin that I wasn't a JW.
When they said "Yes, we are! We're pioneering this month, do you know what that is?" I said, "Do I know what pioneering is? I have Vacation pioneered, Temp. pioneered, Aug. pioneered, Reg. and Special pioneered". And I said it with a big smile, then walked out.
Back in the 70's I worked in Kentucky as a tour guide at Mammoth Onyx Cave. One time I was pretty sure this couple on the tour were JW's, so when I got a chance to talk to them after the tour I asked them where they were from, and they said Ohio. Then I asked them if they knew a man named Nathan Knoor? They started whispering then said, "We know a Nathan Knoor, but he lives in New York". Dub-dar!
I was a dub back then, so I asked them if they would come back to my home for dinner, they did, and we became friends.
I can spot dubs a mile away.

There was a elders son in my last cong who was gay and everybody knew it....he just doesn't know it yet! I've watched this kid grow up, and i'd bet the rent money he will come out (if he hasn't already).
i've read on and off here of various things that told people that god's spirit was not directing the organisation.. personally for me on the last time i got dfed it was the fact that i got reinstated by a meeting of the boe at the exact same moment i was smoking my first cigarettes in 7 months.
i didnt question it exactly but it did seem odd.
i mean i had no idea that they were discussing my reinstatement at that moment that i succumbed and had decided in my favour.
It took a few years....
I had been counselled by elders a few times over the past 20-30 years, all of it was stupid opinions, no holy spirit involved. But the counsel I was given about school sports was the worst!
My daughter was just starting high school and she wanted to play on the school volleyball team. The elders counsel to me was how dangerous school sports were because of drugs (?), bad association (?), chance of getting hurt (?), etc. It was so obvious they were out of touch, plus, I work at the high school in the sports department! They didn't know what they were talking about, and that really got me thinking....
