I knew a bethelite who was eventually caught stealing and "booted out". He was on the night cleaning crew, and stole (rumored) about $700 from a graduated Gilead student, waiting for her visa to leave. Word got out, the hat was passed around Bethel, she ended up with a couple grand from us all.
I remember that morning breakfast after the robbery... it was Fred Franz's day at the table...."Today's text comments are NOT directed to the bethel family.....but, TO THE THIEF AMONG US!!!" Man, he laid into it for about 10 minutes! Don't know how they caught him, but they did....it was some new boy from Texas.

I was actually just listening to "Family Radio" a few minutes ago (for entertainment purposes only). Camping is still sticking with his 5/21/11 date. However, (and I'll bet NONE of you have heard this before!) when the ransom didn't happen, he, at first, said that Jesus DID come on May 21st (INVISIBLE, you know) and judged mankind, so there's no need to preach anymore. Sooo, Family Radio would just be playing gospel music (from the 60's, 70's and 1880's) until Oct. 21, 2011.
Now he's back on Family Radio! Trying to field questions on his "Open Forum" program...What color do you think the sky is, in the wacky world this guy lives in? Gym Bob

Jesus' Sacrifice. You call that a sacrifice?
by ThomasCovenant in''son, i want you to go down to earth and eventually get killed.
then i'll bring you back to life in heaven asap''.
how the hell do 'christians' justify calling that a sacrifice?.

I'm not going to call you a liar or any other name, but you must realize how backwards this really sounds.....
Given the option you propose, why would any normal thinking person refuse to believe? The fact is, you still won't admit that if people don't believe the way you do, you believe they're lost......just like JW's and almost every other religious teaching. Sorry, but you have contradicted yourself....big time. Gymbob

I was once told by an elder that "Worldly" is a witness slang term referring to someone who is not a witness....a term we do NOT use in front of them, because they are potential witnesses and we don't want to offend anyone.

Who was the biggest Jehovah's Witness rebel?
by slimboyfat inwho was raised a jw and went on to lead life in stark contrast to their upbringing?.
i have often thought the award should go to dwight eisenhower.
from a religion that railed against politics and warfare he first invaded western europe and then went on to become president of the united states.

So you do believe that if someone doesn't accept that ransom death of the biblical Jesus then they are lost.(?) It's only a message of hope if a person accepts that, correct? If, on the other hand, a person chooses to believe differently then they would be considered.....what, if not lost?
I'm confused about this. It seems you want to say you believe in the bible, but then not admit that the bible teaches God will destroy you if you don't beleive in the ransom. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Gymbob

Good topic.....My wife asked me just today, "why would someone want to join that religion?"
I was a "born-in", but both of my parents had little or no bible knowledge, and were amazed at dubs who could show them from their own bible god's name (Ps. 83:18). Oh wow...what else is there that we didn't know about??

You'll have to explain that to me then.....
Do you believe the bible teaches belief in the ranson sacrifice as the only way of salvation?

You don't have to belong to a religious organization to hold to a belief, wouldn't you agree?
If, as you say, you believe the bible is from God and Jesus died for our sins, etc., don't you also believe that people who don't hold to that same belief are lost? Bob
