10 Years Japan losses 5,400 Publishers and 638 Kingdom Halls! Why?

japan had a handful of witnesses after ww 2....this number skyrocketed to 222,912 by 1998!

then something happened.

publisher figures didn't stop, they dropped by thousands over the next decade!.

Perhaps, a decrease of Japan started in 1997.

I guess that there are 4 reasons.

(1)Recession.

(2)Japanese came to feel distrust to religious organizations.

(3)Internet.

(4)And, they tired.

(1)Recession.

Japanese branch and zone overseers often imply that. Publishers are advised repeatedly not to work too much. However, I think that it is not an ultimate cause.

up until the purges that took place at brooklyn bethel in 1980, ed dunlap had served as the registrar and one of the senior instructors of the gilead school.

dunlap was one of the victims of the witch hunts that took place in 1980 and was disfellowshipped for "apostasy", along with members of the translation department.

in raymond franzs book crisis of conscience, ray franz discusses ed dunlaps experience in detail.

i was on amazon.com today and noticed that they were selling a collection of rutherford's books on cd.

there was also the watchtower from 1920-1929 and a selection of yearbooks on cd.

they were all being sold under the name of research applications.

Yes! I want to decode texts , footnotes and both relations of Rbi8 Bible. Probably, they are being enciphered.

Zone Overseers (does anyone know the details?)

i would like to know a bit more about zone overseers, the office and its power.

they seem to visit various branches (presumably each oversees 3 to 4 branches) to make sure everything is in order.

the famous visit of jack barr to ireland in the wake of the ray franz induced apostasy in that branch is an example of how a zone visit works.

Generally dedication of branches synchronized with zone visits. Therefore, some information gathering may be possible for you if you check articles about dedication of the yearbook.
