how does this video make you feel when watching?.

Do you feel that shunners should be shunned in return?
Or do you feel that as much as possible a compassionate view should be
adopted and the shunners should be viewed as sick and not shunned if

I would take that on a case by case basis. Most people in my former congregation have ignored me. The other day, on Thanksgiving, I got a call from a dub acquaintance. He asked how I was doing, etc. I told him what was going on in my life and thanked him for the call.

To everyone else who merely liked me for my old position (MS) or my family connections, I ignore them.

If You Leave The Organization Where Else Must You Go?

it seems the watchtower leaders believe that if you were to think about leaving the organization (and listen to "apostates") that you must have a place to go in return.

they feel you must have something, if you were to not accept the organization.

you need hope and belief in something.

the dec. 2009 awake asks the question, what kind of star led the "wise men" to jesus?

it concludes that the "star was from an evil source, most likely satan the devil" ( pg 11).

i see the logic , yes....... since herod wanted to kill jesus, a great personage of pure evil must be behind the 'star'.

That Satan's star explanation never sat right with me. We know how stars are formed. It was one of those little bothersome elements about the Bible that never really sat right with me--but I managed to bury my concern deep enough so that it would never need to be exhumed.

What seems to be missing is an understanding of what makes the good points in our lives enjoyable: periods of not so good times. I find that when I have a weekend of nothing but activities and highs, I look forward to a crash. When there are periods of boredom, or even stress, you look forward to the good times that much more. Now how can an eternity of picking raspberries and tickling foxes (I couldn't bear to read any more than that) be enjoyable beyond a certain point? Rock stars who snort coke and bang hot groupies every night get tired of that too. How can every day being the same fantastic thing become fun for an eternity?

I think people would seriously look for drugs and alcohol in the New System TM . I think they'd want to kill themselves after awhile.

How Witnesses Handle College

so many witnesses have realized that they ain't gonna get a decent job without college.

yet, the problem remains: how can i explain myself amidst so much cultish peer pressure?.

You couldn't talk about it at all. You couldn't comment openly about it. In fact, when one of my ex-friends got his Masters, the elder saying the prayer at the party thrown for him couldn't even talk about college in the prayer! It was one of the most awkward prayers I'd ever heard.

I noticed at the meeting that JW's are very negative

And why shouldn't they be negative? There's no way for them to take control of their lives, their time, their desires, and so forth. The problems they face only can be solved by waiting...and waiting....and waiting...for a miracle that will never come.
