  First Christmas until ruined by family Jdubs

  we were having a wonderful christmas until some relatives came to see us.

  we put away the tree and everything so they wouldnt b stumbled.

  i swear they came to see if we were doing anything non jw.

  Well, don't them ruin another one. One of the great things about not going to the meetings and being around that depressing environment is the fact that I don't feel as much fear as I used to. It's good to know that there's nothing wrong in telling JWs to eff off. I hope you can get to that point by next Christmas.

  Does Our Being Former JWs Affect Our Enjoyment of XMas?

  i went to 2 parties yesterday.

  i actually was invited to 4 this year.. i started out at my daughter's at 7:30 a.m. and my daughter, sil, 2 grandkids and my ex gave presents to one another.

  95% of the gifts were for my 2 year old grandaughter because it was really her first xmas to unwrap presents and get into the "spirit".. then i went in the afternoon to my gf's and they had a big spread and we (once again) exchanged gifts.. here's my bottom line: i enjoyed the family and friends getting together.

  What will the elders think?

  a week ago my wife and i ran into a jw nephew and his wife at the supermarket.

  despite knowing that my wife and i are no longer jw's, he was very gracious, giving his aunt and i a warm hug and introducing his wife to us.

  he casually mentioned meeting with the elders and their decision to disfellowship.

  Since there is no policy set for people ( JWS ) getting Tattoos , young JWS to make them not so abnormal or maybe even rebellious are getting tattoos.

  There are so many controls place on the typical JWS anything that hasn't had the hammer dropped on it yet, is eyed as something worthy.

  Restrangled's right, tats are frowned upon. The two of my dub ex-friends got them and were basically told that they'd never rise in the ranks as long as they had them (some punishment, LOL!). But they are not seen as a good thing.

  Tats accrued "in your wild younger days" can only be forgiven as long as they were inked when you weren't in the Borg, and as long as you can cover them now.

  No snow on Christmas day is...

  when we moved to indiana seven years ago when she was 5 and she doesn't remember a christmas without snow.

  Why did he get it? So he wouldn't forget the Hebrew name of the deity worshipped by the publishing corporation that oversees these elders? Somehow I don't think they're going to be impressed by that stunt. I think this guy will have to get shunned a few more times before he eventually falls out of the org.

  this is a post for all those jw lurkers out there who were once like me but probably think they are all alone and that noone else is going through what they are.... xmas day as a lonely jw is a real bitch!

  what happens is: you spend the whole day alone, knowing that all those jw familys in your area are all together today having a great time!

  if you have a family thats not jw then they are also all together having a great time... but you can't join in.... so you sit there watching tv, all the xmas films coming on... showing familys together on xmas day.... but wait a second!

  are u kidding? It's so cold here in L.A. and the winds! I had to go to my car a few minutes ago and I was shaking. Maybe South Florida is warm

  I've got a wetsuit and I'm not afraid of the California Current! Plus I'll probably have the beach all to myself, too...
