Per phone conversation with society on the 607 vx 586:
"its only 20 years difference"
Wooooooooow! 20 years difference, no big whoop, right? Try selling history books wherein you claim that George W. Bush became president in 1980. I'm sure the Org. will buy them from you.
When presenting list of kings and calculating the years of each as to the pitoval date of 539
"you are doing traditional math"
Ooooohhhh, I'm sorry. I know what the problem is. I'm doing "traditional" math. See, when you're a Dub, you don't need to do traditional math, where the figures add up and everything makes sense. You can do Watchtower TM math, and make up whatever numbers you want!
There was another guy who confronted the Org. with a mountain of research, and here's how they responded to him: 607vs.587.com

The missing 20 years and Jehoiachin's exile
by AuldSoul inin my attempt to make this issue as simplified as possible, i have set out to determine exactly wherein the wts' missing 20 years must be found (607 bc versus 587/86 bc).
i think i have done it, and i would like some confirmation/correction from alleymom, leolaia, narkissos and any others who consider themselves scholarly types.. first, using the kiss method alleymom posted some time back i regressed the accession years of the kings.
since the hillah stele astronomically confirms the first regnal year of nabonidus in 555 bc, and since the wts unqualifiedly agrees with this date (although they neglect to inform why they agree), nabonidus' accession year was 556 bc.

Don't Get Caught!...
by Justice-One ini have been successful at keeping my true feelings from my wife and others for more than 15 years.
i came to understand a long time ago that this was just the way things had to be.

I almost got caught on Sunday. My comp is in my room, and the forum was maximized on the screen. Dad comes up to say something, but doesn't say anything because he's trying to peek around the corner. I move to block. Right then I thought he saw everything...but I don't think he saw anything. I thought up what I was going to say when I came downstairs, but he hasn't brought it up...yet.

Migration from California Brings Life to Golden Springs Congregation
by Joker10 inthe newspaper pdf article can be found here: http://www.annistonstar.com/pdf/2006/062506_a.pdfmigration from california to alabama brings life to golden springs congregationby josh keller.
star staff writer06-25-2006when javier contreras moved across the country to anniston two years ago, his new church desperately needed his help.
services at the jehovahs witness congregation, a spanish-language branch in golden springs that was only a few years old, often were conducted in broken spanish.

I know so many guys who think that way, too. Funny, I don't think they have any success with American girls, so they figure they should go for the mexican girls. How many beautiful mexican girls could they go after in America, yet they would prefer a girl from Mexico instead? Why would they do that?
--itsallgoodnow
I thought about doing it that way, just finding a mexican chick here. The problem is that 1) They're already married or 2) They are spoiled. I'm not having any of that, seriously.
I think they just want a beautiful and very submissive type of wife. Mail order or something like it.

JW's going door to door in poor neighborhoods
by Wordly Andre ini'm not sure if its just me, but i've noticed that every time i drive through the "ghetto part of my city" ok maybe ghetto is a poor choice of words but poor neighborhood, i always see jw's out in the streets.
i live in the same city only in the better part and i hardly ever see jw's on my street?
not that i am complaining about it but, i was thinking do they target lower income families, or in their eyes uneducated people for their ministry?

My congo is in the process of witnessing big time at the local state prison. There were as many "atendees" at the memorial in prison as there were at the hall.
It's pretty funny to look at the congo directory and see all those with XXXX correctional facility as their mailing address. Now that's a REALLY good plan.
--MinisterAmos
Hey, maybe they'll convert a handful of "reformed" peddies and hit the jackpot!
But seriously folks, the same thing is said about my territory. It isn't "ghetto," but it's lower income/renters for the most part. "Oh, you guys have such great territory!" is what we usually get from people who live in more affluent territories. -

Dig the chicks in the picture, Nos? The hotties abound in Mexico. I'm seriously not trying to hook up with an American woman. Not in the least.

they can't get it all done anymore

the first in a long time (with the exception of the obligatory memorial invite).
i live in a fairly small town, but these two, i did not recognize.

A week or so ago, a group of pious-neers went to Salt Lake City to help out with unworked territory. I thought it would be one of those remote areas in Utah where they still practice polygamy, but I guess not..
By the by, I can vouch for the decline in hardliner congregations. The congregation I was in for 10 years was about 80 publishers, and now it's around 50 or 60. Very oldschool. Our congregation seems to be doing okay though, because there's plenty of happy, huggy people. -

Please help - convention info
by unbrainwashed ini decided to skip the convention for the first time this year.
i have been telling everyone in my congregation that i went but just didn't see them there.
a few nosey individuals are getting suspicious and they are trying to find out if i really went or not.

Nope, just the book.
Scully, I've always had this desire to say that whenever Sister Nosey or Brother Inquisitive comes up and tries to grill me on something. I totally want to. But I can't...because I've yet to undue the conditioning of having to respond to any question in a forthright manner.
Unbrainwashed, I think it depends on the size of your convention if you can pull off the "I didn't see you" bit. Mine was about 14,000 people all three days. There were people I just plain did not see. If yours is smaller, like 5 or 6 thousand, it might be harder to pull off. -

The quickest, best way to have a Witness open their eyes to being a cult
by free2beme inmy sister was probably one of the most loyal witnesses out there.
all her responses were pulled right from the watchtower thinking, "sorry you feel that way, but i believe jehovah's witnesses are god's people.
" well in time we came to an agreement, "you do not bring up your negative thoughts on the religion, and i will not try to get you to come back to the religion.

That's a sad story you've got there, Free. Not to excuse what they said, but I think they could've done a much better job of encouraging your sister. If they had really wanted to ease the burden on your sister, they should've offered help from the sisters. Love should be the operating spirit, not statistics for the C.O.'s consumption. The whole "Satan is taking you away from the meetings" was a poor response...but what else can you expect from high-level salesmen?
