1914 is the cornerstone of JW teaching. By it they give themselves the title of "chosen by Christ" and by it they argue that everything that happened since is proof of the "last days." If you destroy 1914 for the flimsy argument it is, you destroy their whole credibility.

I can't quote everyone elses replies, cos i am on firefox and i don't see the tools/emoticons e.t.c which is annoying, but i get the impression this is real thing and very interesting.
KW13, you should get the IE Tab extension. I'm on Firefox too--but technically, not at the moment. The extension's not perfect yet, but it's good for posting on this board.
As for the topic...I can't say I've been able to control my dreams. But there always seems to be a pattern. If I'm thinking about something during the day, and I don't get much time to consider it fully, I usually dream about it.

Name Things JWs Try To "Demonize"
by minimus inthe witnesses are always trying to scare the faithful by telling them that if they don't adhere to the teachings and lifestyle of the brotherhood-----that bad things are going to happen to them.
for example, they might tell you of brother regret who left the "truth", had "fun" in the "world" and then got aids.
now he's back in the "truth" but he only has months to live................can you think of other examples of how the witnesses try to spook the rank and file?

Stuff like anything from a charity shop or a car boot sale
Car boot? Could you clue me in on the limey lingo, please?
Yeahhhhhh....I can add a few more. Dragons on clothes, temples on clothes, Asian symbols on clothes, Bruce Lee on clothes. I have an overshirt that has Bruce Lee, a dragon, and some Chinese symbols on it. My parents think it's a main conduit for the devil!!!! LOL Of course I never bring it out in public; they just might make me burn it one day.
But my folks aren't the only ones who trip on this. There is a pioneer family in my hall who feel the same way about dragons on clothes. Because obviously, any clothes with dragons on them are a portal for Satan to come and destroy you.

Pluto is no longer a planet!
by SirNose586 inwell folks, read it and weep.
they've made it tough for you and me, they really have.
"my very elegant mother just sat upon nine...." nine what, you jerkpiece astronomers??

SirNose586
Ah, folks!
They just didn't want to find four more names for new planets!!! And they certainly didn't want to name one of them Xena!!!
ForscherYou know, I think I would be more upset by a planet being called Xena, than by losing Pluto. Actually, it could even be worse. They could name a new planet based on their new criterion, and give the name to the highest bidder!

Dang, all these stories make me feel bad...
What they've done to me didn't even come close. They were bugging me about violent videogames, but never approached me about it face to face. I guess that's what happens when you've got influential relatives...

Everyone has a song
by Wordly Andre ineveryone has a song that reminds them of a particular moment in their lives, happy or sad or sometimes indifferent.
its only that when you hear that song it takes you back even catching you off guard and suddenly your back in high school or remembering someone you loved and lost.
how many of you have a song that reminds you of leaving the org.

I have a few...
The last day of my first job, I bumped The Ohio Players' "Time Slips Away." I can just remember watching the place as I drove away...
To this day, I can't listen to Stevie Wonder's "For Once in My Life" while driving. During the high point in his harmonica solo (around 2:02), I was clipped by a truck. Brings back too many emotions.
Other times when I'm just sitting at my computer, I'll connect certain songs with certain times in my life. I can remember driving and listening to particular albums, because they were on heavy repeat.

I've done it twice. Of course, when I went to Mexico, it was quite needed. The brothers helped us with food, fun things to do, parking, and more. Though I did have to go out in f/s....and it was not easy. The whole town was crampt and filled with serpentine passages into obscure alleyways.

The dub obsession with 7 is probably why I still have a latent obsession with the number 7. When I was in fourth or fifth grade, I saw a segment on how some people put crosses through sevens and zeds. I trained myself to put crosses through sevens, and nowadays I put crosses through zeds, too.
