Why don't we organise an apostate petition protesting the restrictions on JWs - to show that apostates are not bitter, and support freedom for JWs.
I think that would be a fantastic juxtaposition: a WT official next to a well-known disfellowshipped/disassociated JW on TV! Just think of the uncomfortable conversation the two of you might have.

for years i believed that god had created all the plants and their elements and nutrients specifically for us.
yesterday as i was walking at the getty museum was smelling the garlic plants in the garden and made me wonder.
if we are a product of evolution and the survival of the fittest, why do we depend on a wide variety of plants to survive?
If fruit eating animals help spread seeds far and wide (which is beneficial to the plant) then the plant may evolve tasty nutritious fruit to attract the fruit eaters. It is a symbiosis. Give and take. A lot of evolution is actually not competition, but cooperation.
Great point about the fruit. Flowering plants comprise over 90% of the plants on this planet (and I think it's actually closer to 100%, but I forget the exact percentage). Flowers and fruit are successful ideas, so they spread far and wide...
i could write a good bit on this topic, but thought i would simply open this up for discussion.

I sometimes call a congregation "liberal" if they don't hound as much as the others. In the early 90's, a nearby hall was pretty lax about enforcing rules. You pretty much had to commit a crime right in front of them before they'd take action against you.
most congregations in this area had no meeting last thursday,.
they have now cancelled tomorrows meetings .

well today the staff who was supposed to man the shop has called in sick, which meant that i had to go in and open up.

Aren't the real questions:
1.) what court case did the WBTS lose?
2.) what legislature are they trying to head off?
3.) which government are they trying to snow?
I'll keep an eye out for the answers to those questions. In the meantime, the explanation could simply be that they want to thin the ranks of the SPs.
