JW's Defend 607 BCE Teaching!

my father (who's an elder) just sent me this link...and i'd like to get yall opinions on it before i call him back:.

apostates and other opposers argue that jerusalem was not destroyed in 607 bce, but in 587 bce, and provide what they claim is archaeological evidence to support this.

if 607 bce is wrong, then the seven times prophecy ending in 1914 ce would be wrong also.. .

In fact, the general chronology of Bible explanation fails a lot.

For instance, according to Luke (3:1) Jesus started in sept 29 CE. But if he was born in -2 (2 bCE) ALL historical and nasa records (combined with history writer Josephus) of show that Herodes died in -4 that Jesus never could have been born in -2.

We we take the seventy yearweeks prophecy, and start at 455 bCE, this fails as well.

If you get my idea.

So, because of the fact that it 'nearly fits', it looks like not the bible or history is wrong, but _all_ afterward explanations are wrong.

Hi All,

I seldomly post here, but...

It is impossible for human, to declare who is the only true God.

It's like dogs fighting with each other about the best true boss you can have. In fact, all the bosses are true :)

Let God himself declare to be true. Until know, no voice has been heard from heaven. No prophet truly can claim to be Gods spokesman.

Meanwhile, Jesus declared who his Father was. I believe that the four books, matthew, luke, john, mark, _are_ about a non-fictious person, Jesus.

So, let's hope that what Jesus according those books has said, is true.

Crop Circles, can be planned. It's great fun. It's shown at I believe discovery channel, and became great news in the Netherlands, that -we- finally, also had the privilige of a circle instead of England, to which the UFO's had more preference :)

After two days, the joke was disclosed. It was very strict planning and everybody, did the circle at night. It took two nights, the first to mark the circle (nobody could yet see the circle) the second night, everybody cut his/her assigned part. The planning was done off-the-place.
The farmer had agreed with the joke because it gave him a good marketing push.

The greatest of the joke was this! UFO specalists came over, and 'measured' the circle. They were sure there was 'radiation' :) (the vibes?)

It's just a symbolic number. All who want can partake. The problem is that the New World Translation, those phrases that have 'breaking the bread' in Greek and Aramaic translated with (something like) eating meals.

Where were they, when the Asian crysis happened in 1997? This was just a few years ago.

But this time, the common Americans feel the pain them selves and now the Awake predicted the end :) yeah, right.

Asia already has recovered. Armageddon did not come then as well :)

we have had six thousand years or so of satans rule.and yea he has cocked up big time,but what have we got to compare it with?

we are supposed to choose jehovah's way but we have only "seen" a bit of that in the garden of eden and that didn't go too well,so how do we compare???.

One can 'earn' by faith. And what is faith? It is in your heart. :)

It's a present, probably given in future, and if not, so, what else?

The only compare we have, is 'how it would be if...' Jesus were king.

And I think, if you try to read objectively his words, there is a beautifull person who will and can rule with empathy without corruptness and greed.

It's up to you to choose that. And I agree with the others, there is no current comparison, and if you stick to the OT, I'd rather prefer the Greek way of living, eh, the romantic part of it, not the bachus part ;)

And as long as God does not show he's alive and caring today for us, what could we do better than live and let live?

thanks to this site, not only am i free of the mental imprisonment, but i am also free of the fear that the society used to keep me and others like me silent.. i am not a witness anymore because the truth is not what we are directred to think it is.

once we allow ourselves to think, it is clear as day that there is no real basis for anyone to take the title of faithful and discreet slave.

there are folders and lists which contain the names of pedophiles who were never turned over to the proper authorities for their crimes.

a collegue of mine, a mother of 19 year old twins is distressed.

her one son has been going out with an older women (this came to light when the other twin was sick and tired of all the lying going on) the truth is that the older women turns out to be her very good friend, who is now 49 years old.

let's call her madam x.. madam x is a very '"sweet"" woman - i know her, as i used to work with her.

There are a few women who are as my therapist desribed me, " In perimenopause and feeling like a 19 year old BOY! " That may explain her attraction to a real teenage boy. He can probably keep up with her!

Ok, might be, but that was not my experience.

However, my ex limited the sex when she became 54 or so, so I had to help myself :) however, that was not the reason for divorce, (i'm not that egoistic :) ) she's still a JW (calling me satanic) and I'm not.

Anyway, on my experience, I would advise against any marriage to an older woman. I was 24, and never had a girlfriend until then, so after all, I feel like trapped by an experienced woman. (She was 43 at that time but we had lots of fun).

it's quite obvious. If a wife is a lot older than her husband, and sex, plays no role, it's no problem.

Unfortunately, most guys love sex, and how she looks for the eye.

If she's in menopauze, but the guy 'wants', say, 3x a week, what do you think what will happen then? He must be very patient then...

The other way around (man older than the wife), the problem is a lot less obvious.
