((((((((gumby)))))))) There is a peace that is not easily described but far better than an earthly peace would bring. It is a peace that is internal and even IF you were to suffer some tragic acident like you stated...that peace would remain if you wanted it too. It is a peace that enables one to be content in all circumstances. God is able and willing to give you His peace. I have found that when I leave His peace and begin to walk without Him......I get very irritated with everything in the world and become impatient and frustrated. I suppose it is walking in the spirit vs. walking in the flesh. The key for me, is to continue in prayer to remain in His presence. Whenever I try to do things without Him (I have that tendency....big time!!) I become depressed or anxious or angry....you name it..... I have found that through patient prayer and petitioning the Holy Spirit's guidance in my prayers (because I don't even know how to pray) that the world around me is perceived differently and my heart and mind are full of peace. I am able to carry on through my day in His peace. I have to tell you gumby that this did not come easy for me.....I don't know why, I thought that I was sincere but in retrospect I do see that I was going to God and bringing my own righteousness ( ie: doctrines or deeds). It was only when I dropped my own stuff and believed that He would touch me just because He is gracious to those who are in His Son.....because of His Son, not me. That is the heart of the gospel that the jw's never taught me...I was always busy making sure that I had it all right. Going to God in as I truly am....and trusting in His goodness, not my own was a big change for me and I have to say that it felt so good not to feel the need to hide anything or pretend in fromt of the One who knows everything anyway. I wish you peace gumby and much love.dj

i find it funny... as in peculiar... that from adam until today... "we"... get our kicks blaming god.

The Holy Spirit... and DOES God Speak to Us?
by AGuest inmay you all have peace.
last night when i went to bed, my heart was quite heavy: there were things on it, in it, thereon... whatever... that i could not reconcile: i know what i have heard from my lord - how do i get others who love him to grasp that such a thing is possible, to understand that they do not have to take my word for it, but can ask him, for i am nothing more than a good-for-nothing-slave... and have "sold" myself into the "service" of the one who "bought" me... so that it is his will that i must obey... whether earthling man hears... or refrain?
this is not new "fight" with me, let me tell you: i know exactly how jeremiah felt, for i cannot count the times my heart has felt the same thing.

Hi Gumby!!
How ya been? I searched and searched for a LONG time too. I did get answers though. I hung in there. It has been a peace that defies logic which I cannot begin to describe. I am sorry about you feeling so isolated, all I can say to you is hang in there and persevere in prayer......He will answer you and you will know for sure that you have received your answer. The problem that I see in the way... is Christ. He is your rock of offense? Your stumbling stone? wow....that's a big problem but not impossible. This "legend" stuff makes no sense if you consider that people who did not even believe in Christ wrote about Him. Jews, even! Jesus's life is documented by history.....no question. Why would Jewish historians write about Him if he never existed? makes no sense...whatsoever... You know that faith is key. You will never get answers if you are double minded. I know of a book called "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel?? You might want to check it out...I know that he was an atheist who investigated both sides of the arguments for Christ. Have you read anything that confronts head on the stufff you read? It's out there, I just haven't gotten to far. The odd thing is that Jesus becomes a rock of offense and a stumbling block to many people.....that was prophecied too. (Romans, Peter, etc) Interesting. Let me ask you, have any of those urban legend books you've read, prophecied correctly? It is unbelievable the amount of time that the majority of the world spends on belittling Christ. Hang tough gumby and do the research on both sides of this argument too. I can tell you that unless I am absolutlely loco.....He is real. There are no scholarly explanations for the love He has shown me. There were many years when I felt abandoned but the perseverance has paid off for me. I am without a doubt that if you keep seeking....you will find. Just seek Him though, not man's books. Seek His face. You aren't alone....You gotta hang tough a little longer. I almost threw in the towel a few times. It was the toughest battle of my life. I have had quite a few battles that drop the jaws of folks but no battle was more brutal than the one for Christ. I don't know why....but I had to fight the entire way with everything I had...He gave me the courage, even though I nearly died. There is major opposition to face when you truly seek His face with all of your heart. I Give Him the glory because it was in His own power, not mine that I was freed. I tell you the truth from the bottom of my heart, knowing full well that I may be made fun of by some here....it just doesn't matter anymore to me. Love, dj

instead of telling her- look here sister, brothers are fleshly -they like FINE LOOKING SISTERS and that is why "Sister Just Baptized" is getting married this summer after being a jw for 6 months- SHE IS FINE!!!!!!!!
and the same with this poster - who was asked:
Why would a loving god leave a helpless child to be raped------------- and the only GOOFY Sh!t this poster could come up with is to tell a child that the man's Penis will get soft and he will no longer be able to continue to rape you
in other words the "Act" of rape is not Eternal- it only last for a few minutes or so it is not ETERNAL
i would have much more respect for a believer is he just simly said "I don;t know why a loving god would do such a thing"
instead of making up some BS answer.
HOW DUMB
Hi JT,
I'm sorry but I do see a difference here between lying to the "ugly sisters" and sharing my beliefs truthfully. I was asked a question about why God allows such sufferings and I answered it to the best of my beliefs. I did not lie to her. You are comparing your lies with my belief.
I do believe that these children who are raped and beaten or murdered or whatever....will see vengeance and will have their tears wiped away by God HIMSELF!!. Eternal life vs. the seventy?? years we get here? If you could have 1/2 century or so... here in this world in a relative happy existence as compared to FOREVER....in a state of bliss without one tear.....what would you pick? Check out LUKE 16:19-31. What lazarus has compared to the rich man is far better. Some have their "cake" here and now and others wait patiently upon God....and others give up on everything instead of "believing" what God has promised.
I know that God had mercy on us, xjw's....He knows that we have been lied to and hurt and beaten and even ROBBED of Christ Himself. Yet, I think it is sad when some let the wt experience from the rest of their life's relationship with God. To me, anyway..it is as if the wt wins when we who leave turn away from God. I have felt His touch and His peace in my heart and soul, so strong and so very loving that I am sure that He knows me.I want to leave this world and be with Him when I feel His presence in me. I never ever even came close to that with the jw's. It was a rigid, deceitful, boastful, arrogant man made religion. They are not even about God. They are about themselves wrapped up in sheep's clothing. I find it amazing too, that Jesus warned us of such false teachers who would try to steal us. Don't let them win. They lied to us from beginning to end. Throwing the baby out with the bathwater is so sad to me. yet, so many xjw's have done just that. You know, most in cult-like religions...when people leave they are angry with God and become atheist or agnostic, etc... To me, all that shows is that the cult was succesful one way or another. They are successful if they keep their recruits and they still win when some see it as a man made religion and then turn around and hate God for it.
He never left us, He is still waiting with arms stretched out for you. He knows you are hurtin'. He knows all of it. He is knowable and reachable, just go to Him in prayer. i am not asking you to join a religion!! NO<<< I am asking you to persevere in your prayers to seek His real face.. Tell Him that you don't know how to pray anymore, tell Him that you are angry or scared or confused......etc... That is when He hears us. Ask Him to bless you with His Holy Spirit so that you can receive help with your prayers. Remember one thing JT...when you go to God, go because He is good alone, not because you feel good about yourself or you think you got all the "doctrine" just so... etc//... He knows your pains and all of your feelings and He understands why. What is so awful about going to Him? It is not about "religion" It is about fellowship. You know that Jesus died for your sins too, so be thankful for that, and proceed before His throne with a grateful heart and a desire to know Him better. This life here is temporary!!!!! Look up to your future life in eternity!!!!!! That is the prize, and Christ already won it for you when He bought you. Just receive Him. Quit dwelling on the past and set you mind on your future in Christ. What have you go to lose. Yes, you might feel persecution as a Christian ( not the kind the wt makes up...) but your reward for enduring the persecutions will be worth every secong a million times over. He will strenghthen you, when you ask Him. Just don't let go of His arm. Be brave, brother and of good courage. Or you can have your "cake" here/ If you are even having any cake...?? Being an xjw without Christ isn't exactly cake is it? Our sufferings here are nothing compared to the riches in for those who belong to Christ. That is called, hope. It's free, a gift. you know your bible?? Then you know that you can't earn salvation by works right? Any good works will flow out of you when you receive His love and it has been prapared for you to walk in those good works. Love, peace, joy.....you can feel that for real. I'm sorry if I went on a roll there JT. You probably have heard it all before and I just really annoyed you....I'm so sorry if that is true. I just wanted to share this alternative with you because I just care and want you to be set free like I have been. There just isn't anything like it on this green earth. I hope you aren't angry with me, my intent is from a lovingconcern for a you, who I feel that I can relate to in many ways. Please don't come back at me with any anger. If hope that you are not offended. love, dj

Cass,
The sufferings endured in this life are not eternal.
