I may get a visit from the P.O. :(
by crownboy ini think i may have a potential problem on my hand.
over the last year or so, i've been attempting to go the slow fade route with the jw religion.
for the most part i've succeded, as my significant decrease in jw related activities has been greeted only by brief "pep talks" by my parents at worse.

Can someone help please
by Eddy256 ini was wondering if you could help me.. im not a jw but im trying to help a friend who is.. recently he announced to all his friends that he's a jw and many of.
them ran a mile and havnt talked to him since, the rest of us, had either .
guessed or have stuck by him because we're his friends and his religion.

Eddy256,
I can only tell you or rather forewarn you that sadly, your friend will most likely stop associating with you. You will be considered a bad association unless you 'convert' to his religion or study with him. Continue researching their beliefs here and on other sites. You never know......maybe you'll be able to help your friend out of this cult. I do stress 'maybe.' I would proceed with caution though, they are a trap and a snare. best wishes. dj

When did you realised that everything had changed?
by In_between_days inin life, there are certain pivotal moments when you realise that every thing has changed dramatically.
it's a breathtaking and overwhleming feeling.
you may think back to who you were on this day a year ago, compared to who you are now - the contrast is incredible.. i find change in viewpoints and thinking evolves slowly, over a long period of time, you dont know the change is taking place until one day, you realise for one stunning minute that you are everything that you never were.

Ok, I'm still not sure of the question here but I'll try. The guilt was gone, the pain drifted into the past where other bad memories live. Anger grew but love subdued it because for the first time I realized that Jesus died for me too. dj

Yesterday amidst the problems, Spider brought this thread to our attention:
http://www.Jehovahs-Witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=35125&site=3 I found this to be disturbing to say the least. Has anyone heard from her? Is she ok? Does anyone know her personally? ty, dj

It was a gradual thing for me as well. Like, years! I guess it started with wondering why they never really spoke of Jesus. Then , although I was aware of some of the false prophecies, I never really knew that they claimed to be prophets! I always believed them when they said, "Oh we made some mistakes...so did the apostles." When I researched and found out all of the claims to inspiration that they made...I felt something in my head click. Unfortunately, it was only the beginning of my exit. It took me years to get 'deprogrammed'

Total Control Freaks. I guess they would lose $$$ if the publications were available on the internet? I get such a sick feeling when I read their patronizing, control freekishness now. dj

What do you suggest?
by Ardilla inthere's almost one year that i left the org, but i didn't know why i still have thouse guilty feelings.
i'm not doing nothing what in the bible is forbidden and i read the crisis book form r. franz.
when i read it, i felt that it wasn't bad that i had doubts of the org, because the goverment had it too!

Dear Ardilla,
I would suggest, if you like to read.....to go to www.freeminds.org and do some reading. Randy Watters has many books that you can purchase as well. Don't stop researching. You will find out that they are not the "Truth". There are plenty of sites as well as this one to do your research. Start to unlearn what you've been taught now! Personally,I prayed for answers as well as researched. Please ask any questions that you'd like, I'd be more than pleased to answer them. I've been there too. Anytime you have a question that is torturing you, start a thread with it! Love, dj

my global statement
by lauralisa ini am so off this planet.. i have had so much therapy in the past, i dunno, forty years, that it makes me "sick".. i have learned to speak in cognitive-speak.
i have learned to think in cognitive-speak.. i have survived jw-endorsed "therapy": a jw-sanctioned therapist in northern virginia who could "cure" dissociative disorders in just a few sessions.
she learned this technique from the "society" and therefore, did not charge for her services.

Lauralisa,
Aren't you the Zappa fan?? Check your e-mail, ok? I'll put JW in the subject line...love,dj
