  just to avoid misunderstandings and the like, could some enlighetened brain help a poor foreigner with explaining these terms and shortenings being used here, that i get them all more or less correctly:.

  I just posted to a thread and referred to this subject briefly. The dubs don't use the dictionary whe they really need to .....for example...gospel means good news and grace means undeserved kindness and obesiance means worship.....etc....They use the dictionary when it suits their doctrine...only.

  Hi hippie, In chat brb means be right back. Oh yea, ((((((((((((((hug))))))))))))))))). I felt the need to tell you the hug thing because at first I thought it was used to call someone loudly to get their attention.......LOL!!!! I hugged a lot of people, by mistake. EEEEWWWWWW dj

  I'm with you Crystal ans Undis,

  Unfortunately, you will be argued with here but hey,that's free will. I have heard the argument about predestination and free will and I believe that God has the foreknowlege....that does not take away our free will. He knows ahead of time what we will choose. It takes a lot of humility to kneel before Christ and accept his gift, doesn't it? I've never been more humbled in my life and it is a good kinda humble,eh? I was taught of course, that going to Christ in prayer was wrong and that our prayers should be directed to only Jehovah. As a matter of fact, it was a HUGE step for me to go to Jesus.....it was a scary thing at first.I even had the thought that Jehovah would squash me right then and there! The wt taught me to have unfounded fears and they were instilled very deep in me from a young age.

  When I read the bible and prayed w/o man interfering, I found a completely different gospel. Oh, and that's another thing......Why can't the WT use the word 'gospel'??? They are so bent on being different that they are afraid of the word and have to say Good News. They mean the same thing....just like the words: Congregation=Church and Undeserved kindness=Grace and Obesiance=Worship on and on and on......They are a sad disgrace who mislead many and rob the faith of the sheep. dj

  P.S. and those [brackets] are so deceiving....I read in the front of the NWT that they are inserted to complete the sense....in reality,they change the entire meaning!

  hi i've tried several times to post my not so now i'm going shorten it to i beleave that people go to the hall w/good intentions & strong beliefs which i have no problem with that in itself but i cant measured what 1 indivudual should or should not be doing.

  i don't think that these same people would show up to evrery 5 meeting every week if they thought it was all a crock.

  anyway, we must be careful beause what's good for the gander is not neccessarily good for the ganer.

  I understand Madman to be saying something very true and I am surprised that you don't understand. You do live in America, don't you?? It is absolutely politically correct in this country to be tolerant of all belief sytems. Therefore everyone is right and noone is wrong. How does that make sense? Don't dare take a stand for Christ or else we will be hearing from people like you, politically correct indeed.

  I respect the fact that your butt is covered under the 1st ammendment. You need to try to remember that it covers our butts too. Not everyone is an atheist. I have never tried to pressure you to stop being an atheist. I just think that you are way off base here. You obviously can't understand the dynamics of these conventions and you are actually sounding foolish trying to discredit something that you know nothing about.

  I guess that it needs repeating that NO speaker there requires anyone to agree. We are free to come and go as we please, to listen or not to, to make friends, or not,to agree or disagree, to wear dresses or jeans, to eat with everyone else, or go out, to enjoy the band or not to.....WHATEVER!!! It is beyond my comprehesion how anyone except a communist regime would have a problem with this place.

  i've always known that i am a bit obsessive, but lately i've been starting to worry about it.

  when i was taught jw stuff, i really got into it.

  i know that most women are supposed to be able to think and do a million things at once.

  Hi Valis,

  I think that the point that you are missing is that if you are NOT required to believe the teachings of others that are there. You are free to come to your own conclusions. You are also free decide which speaker/s that you are interested in hearing.

  Most important of all, I feel that you are not understanding that this is a place for healing and crying and venting and learning.......Everyone there is helping everyone else. The difference between this board and those conventions is that most believe in Christ as their mediator between God and man not the wt. So it is a form of fellowship for Xcult members and I feel that you are doing a great disservice to others on this board by coming to an unfounded conclusion. There is absolutely noone telling anyone what they should do. It is a place full of joy and friendship and most importantly....freedom. luv,dj

  puts plugs in his ears from the start.. now, it don't seem to be my imagination, but many ladies for some inexplicable reason seem a tad unreasonable at least once a month where anything i do seems to be wrong in their eyes.

  most ruddy irksome it is from a guys point of view i can tell ee.

  here we are, quite happy in our own right, say something to this here balmpot, and wowwwwww irritable utterances just tumble forth with such degrees of unreasonableness tis almost funny to observe, but dare i laugh in their presence whilst she be in this most unpredictable of states?

  Mark........I don't see too many men responding with the help that you desire. I would suggest that you do what my husband does.........Cook the dinner or order take-out (order xtra) . Ask her if there is anything you can do for her.......THEN DO IT........other than that keep your mouth shut. Also keep tabs on the calendar so you can prepare yourself. dj

  Five,

  It isn't! It is an annual meeting in the mountains of Pennsylvania for furmer cult members, namely JW's but there are xmormons as well. It is a place for healing and venting. It is an extremely loving environment with plenty of testimonies and encouraging teachings from former members who have found the love of Christ. It is Oct 18-20 this year. All are welcome and NOONE is there to indocrinate anyone!! It is a great time! I hope to go again this year. Don't knock it 'til you've tried it! love,dj
