presumably in the last days when jesus arrives as judge and executioner, he says the famous scripture, "many will say to me in that day, lord, lord, did we not prophesy in your name and expel demons in your name and perform many powerful works in your name?
and then i will confess to them, 'i never knew you, get away from me you workers of lawlessness'".

Hi truthseeker,
That was always a scary verse to me. The jw's used it to prove that Jesus' name was no longer capable of driving out demons and that Jehovah was the name we needed. That is not what is meant....grrrrrrr It took me years to see that! I do think that the wt prophecies in Jesus' name (1914) falsely.
I think that some tv evangalists who smack people's foreheads come to mind.....?? It is not for us to judge. Calling them workers of lawlessness means iniquity or sin, right? Obviously, Jesus is referring to false prophets and people who don't really cast out demons, because he call them workers of lawlessness, which means to me that their lives are full of unrepenant sinning. This verse no longer scares me.....!!!
As far as the other people who cast out demons in the bible besides the apostles....I know what you mean and Jesus says something about them.....how it won't be long until they follow him..?? something like that...where is that verse?? I can't remember and am too lazy to look it up.lol. love, dj

I believe in reading the bible and talking to God in prayer to understand what is meant in the bible for only by the grace of His spirit do we understand. If one is led to believe something that contradicts the written word, then prayer is needed to sort ot out. If one doesn't understand that by the WORD, the heavens and earth were made then they are misled. We are to test all inspired utterances and I think many make the mistake of not heeding that. Some like to reject the concept that the word is God because they have not yet been given the understanding yet and should continue to prayerfully seek and not discount the bible as the written word. I suppose that the real reason for discounting the bible is lack of understanding of what is written. Many who discount the bible see contradictions in it when there are not but because of misinformation they stray from truth. Take care my brother, dj

I'm glad that the world has caring committed people such as you. Keep strong and vent whenever you need to . You have a tremendous responsibilty in your profession. My hat is off to you. The phrase about God never giving us more than we can handle is not accurate and them istake is common. The bible actually says that God will not let us be tempted beyond what we can bear and that He will provide us a way out from the temptation to sin, if we follow Him. If they only practiced what they preached......and listened to others then, maybe they would be able to see how ridiculous they make God out to be. Their pride is in the way. They make God out to be a schitzo because they tell them one day to listen to the opinions of others and the next day forbid them to read their material.

The refusal of blood transfusions is a delusion when you consider the hypocrisy of the fraction allowances. It is merely a smoke screen to appear righteous. The forbidding of certain fractions not transfusions is the correct wording, sadly.
