A sad sight to see........
by Gill inevery evening, after dinner, husband and me go for a half hour walk.
we leave the younger kids with the older ones and we're off!.
last evening we were striding along and we saw a man a little way ahead of us dressed in suit and overcoat, carrying a brief case and continually looking at his watch.

Good observation Gill. I was raised in a hectic household like your cousin's. It wasn't much fun.

Why all the Athiest/Christian bashing?
by AK - Jeff ini know i am different than many, and though i accept christianity, i just don't understand the constant debate and haggle over the matter.
not a week goes by without one side starting a fight with the other, then the other retorts with it's position.
lots of wordsmiths appear and try to reason above the other persons head, and make naked accusations about an entire class of persons unknown.

I agree Jeff. I think a big part of leaving the WTS is feeling free to embrace others who believe differently. The freedom to "live and let live", to agree to disagree. To not make a big deal about someone having a different point of view. No longer viewing others as "us" and "them". I'm still in "fading" mode on the outside in order to preserve my family ties intact, but on the inside I am completly "out". I really don't like it when I see people here get all worked up over their new beliefs as opposed to someone else's. I guess that's a leftover from JW thinking.

Please Send Any Positive Thoughts My Way on Wednesday!
by XJW4EVR ini will be interviewing for a position at the university of southern california.
the pay is not going to be that good to begin with, but i have mitigating factors, my son who is a junior this year, can get in and i won't have to pay a dime towards his tuition.
his dream is to go to usc and to play for the usc marching band.

This discussion board is just the medicine I needed
by Backed away ina big thank you to those who created this board and for all the amazing people who post here.. truth be told (no pun intended) i have seen other religious boards out there but never felt compelled to join since i didn't feel qualified to speak one way or the other regarding their beliefs.
this board is another story.
i was raised as a witness but never thought so many people all over the world had a similiar past as i did.

I like peaches
by jgnat inlooking at the different ways my sister and i approach life, i'd decided people are either peaches or they're lobsters.
my sister is all tough and crusty on the outside.
you'd never know if something is bothering her.
