  i decided to take the advice of some of you here when i wrote about my situation.. i am married, but my wife is a die hard witness.

  despite me showing her mountains of evidence and her actually accepting it, she is regressing back into jw think.. this has happened since i stopped mentioning anything anti-jw.. now she thinks that my problems with jw's were just a phase because i am not bringing up the issue anymore.. i really want to leave this religion, but i can't do that without losing her.. many here i know are trapped and some are still serving as elders.

  i don't know how you do it, but i guess routine is routine.

  Some good advice here. I like Gill's the best, and she speaks from first hand experience. I like willyoman's post too.

  I think you should continue being a wonderful husband but don't go to meetings or field service as a way of taking your stand. When they ask about you, she can say you didn't feel up to going, or "it's a personal thing"...

  Movie - The Good Shepard

  i just saw the good shepard and i am still trying to decide if i liked the movie or not.

  it basically tells the story (i am sure somewhat fictionalized) the start of cia.. matt damon is really good in it, and so is alec baldwin.. i guess the main thing that i am struggling with is that the film makes it seems that to protect a society, you have to think like the enemy, commit heinous crimes like the enemy, to defeat the enemy.. i know its probably reality, but knowing this does not make you feel very good.. .

  has anyone else seen this movie.. what are your thoughts?.

  some of you asked for a scan of the february 15, 2007 wt study on wives being in subjection.

  i forgot to mention, the one paragraph stresses that not only are you a second class citizen in the marriage, but women are also to "obey" the numbnuts in the congregation, even if you've got a higher iq:.

  Paragraph 12 takes the cake for me. To add to Peter's words, saying he meant abusive husbands as well, is just ridiculous!. How many of our sisters are going to be hurt by the warped logic in this paragraph? How many elders will use this paragraph to persuade a sister to stay with her abusive husband? This just makes me sooooo mad!

  the witnesses always say they are free in christ, i beg to differ, i don't know how many stupid unscriptural laws they have but lets start a thread on how many dumb witness laws you know and have heard of that make no sense or completely unbelievable, it is like they have a second talmud.

  cant have walt disney movies or stuffed animals as this is magical.

  cant have beards.

  I've known witnesses whose own children robbed them when they were at the meetings. How do they explian that?

  I'm sorry for you situation. Do you have insurance?
