~Share a magical memory from your childhood thread~
by FlyingHighNow inwe all had those moments in childhood that were pure magic.
moments that were full of wonder that brought us great joy.
sometimes those memories are connected with music or certain fragrances.

Do you need to be popular?
by nicolaou ineveryone wants to be liked but how important is popularity to you?
i can honestly say i've little desire to be popular but i do know i need to feel loved.
perhaps it's something to do with maturity (not age).

That last post under my name was my husband. He forgot he was on under my name. He is the introvert in the family. I have always been wildly popular!!! LOL

I don't need to be popular, or even liked outside my family. I can only claim 1 friend and he lives 10 hours away, so we only see each other about twice a year. But that's fine with me. Since joining this forum I have found a few virtual friends, who knows maybe one day I will be popular!

I think you went on a really bad "trip" plus you exposed yourself to the demons. I also think you need medical help. I have suffered with depression since my early teens and I know there is help. Please seek some reputable advice.

"Thats what you get for leaving Jehovah"
by megsmomma inthat is what my mom told me when i got bit by a brown recluse spider.. i was in ohio, visiting my daughter and my mom was there trying to convert me back.
she even said if i go back, we would get custody of my daughter..... well....i drove myself there from ks and somehow had gotten bitten right before i left.
it was right between my eyes, and my head started swelling up on the way there.

What your mon said was cruel and ignorant. Don't believe it for a minute. The Bible even says"time and unforseen occurance befall us all". Quote that to her next time something goes wrong in your life or hers.

That really was a sweet memory, and I am so glad you had such a lovely childhood. As a mom I worked hard to give my kids plenty of opportunities to experience life and create happy memories. Be happy you have these memories and treasure them, pass them on for others to enjoy, as you did here. Not all of us have them but we can live vicariously through people like you.

Blow up at an elder lately?
by Dune ini consider myself to be an extremely tolerant person.
i'm one of those people that are extremely yielding, never get into confrontations and things of that sort.. i've been fading for about two months but instead of being smart like everyone else on the board and doing it gradually, i simply just dropped off the face of the earth (by witness standards) and just focused on school and work.. theres one elder that has been calling my family asking about my whereabouts, the times i'm home, my cell # and all the good stuff.
i wake up at 6:30 in the morning to the guy calling me, i dont bother picking up but he leaves a message.

I agree with Blondie. Don't hide, just say:no thank you. Don't be confretational or rude, this way you will show up his rude behavior.

DO YOU STILL HAVE PERSONAL INTEGRITY?
by juni infor most all of us here we have had association with the jehovah's witnesses in some way or another.
there are many man-made "rules" within the organization.
that fact we all agree on.

HI Juni: I have not had the time to read all the posts but from what I've seen I think some are making this a semantics lesson and that is not what you intended.
I get your point: do we have integrity (stand for something) and are we moral (whichever moral code we choose to follow). For me the answer is YES. Because of my integrity I can no longer support a hypocritical org.
And as for morals, I don't intend to be immoral simply because I am no longer accountable to the org. I don't judge others who think differently ,but personally I think some things are inherently wrong or at least detrimental such as: aduletery, promiscuity, foul language, smoking. drugs, drunkeness as a hobby, etc. I too found Butter's reaction to the person df'd for adultery disturbing. I also find disturbing some of the accounts of "apostafests" and the like. I feel uncomfortable when I see former witnesses glorifiying loose behavior. For me, leaving the WT does not translate to doing "whatever". Others obviously feel differently, and that is their right, but I would not want others to think that just because we come to this forum we condone anything others do or say.
