I tried fading but in the end it was too wearing, never knowing if it was jws at the door or on the phone, and i started feeling continually sick because i felt in the end that personally i was living a half life and i couldn't handle it anymore. I was terrified of being shunned as well as i've never felt good enough as it is! I'm lucky my own family aren't jws, just my husbands, so for him its a better option to fade. And since sending my letter recently, although i'm finding it hard being ignored every day in my childs playground by people that a month ago would chat to me, i feel as if a weight has been lifted off me - and i can answer the door/phone again without worrying who is at the other end!

Do you really wish you could have faded?
by megsmomma ini didn't really even concider(or know about) doing this at the time i da'd....i just kind of jumped off the deep end and didn't look back.
i don't know if that was a very healthy thing for me to do, because i was not sure why i did it and i was quite lost in the world.
it took me 7 years to realize i did the right thing and that jw's are nothing but a dangerous cult.. sometimes i wish i had faded out, so as to not miss my mom.....however it seems that going through all that may be harder that just jumping.

Impulsive buyer....What was I thinking?~?
by purplesofa inyesterday, i was in wal-mart, taking care of some business at the service desk, while i was there, i thought......i'll just browse a bit and then get home.. before i knew it i was at the check-out with a hotdog griller...!!!!!!
you know it looks kinda like the ones at gas stations, movie theatres, ball parks!!
i barely eat 10 hot dogs a year and thats just when i don't have another choice.. i have never bought anything stupider that i can remember.. forty bucks spent........maybe five bucks back after i keep it five years.......selling it in a gargae sale.. tell us.....do you buy things impulsively and what was your biggest mistake?.

I bought a pancake cooker cos i can't ever turn the things without them breaking into a soggy mess - turns out you still have to turn them i though it would do it for you!
Hubby bought me a juicer which i HATE cos every time you use it your kitchens all messed up and theres about eight separate bits to be washed up.
I bought a breadmaker which burns the bottom and doesnt cook the tops of the loaves and its huge, now i just use it to mix pizza base in it.
Bought a table top hoover which instead of sucking up the crumbs blows them everywhere.
Oh dear i think i'd better stay away from the shops!Goodness knows what i'll buy next!

anyone feeling a wee bit guilty about celebrating Thanksgiving and Xmas??
by Star Moore ini was feeling a bit guilty about celebrating as this is my 1st year out and i know the history of all the holidays and birthdays are pagan or bloody or idolatrous.. .
but i was thinking that it's not what someone made them in the past but what they are right now.. to us, at this moment.
am i going to sit down on thanksgiving.. and say, "i hate those indians, think i'll go kill some"..????

I have decided not to let anyone make me feel guilty i am going to have a good time and have already done most of my xmas shopping!I even bought a santa claus sign to stick out the front garden asking him to stop here!(thought that would wind the jw neighbours up hee hee!) My husband is a bit awkward with it all but then hes decided not to leave, trying to fade soi told him that if his family say anything he can blame it all on me! Funny thing is i always said that if i left i'd never be able to celebrate things again - wrong!!!I am so looking forward to my childrens 'first' xmas i will be more excited than they are (ok i'm sad i can't help it!)

daft fashion question
by Ellie inbefore i got pregnant i bought some nice short sleeve shirts, now that i've had my baby they are quite tight across the chest and my belly, so i was wondering if i could wear them open with a vest top underneath, or would this look daft?.

Ellie i wore my shirts with vest tops and it looks fine, plenty of others do too in the summer its not worth buying a whole new wardrobe of clothes when you'll be back in your old ones before long. They're handy to wear under jumpers in the winter too, i think its a great idea debbie

AT 1:26PM FRIDAY OUR DAUGHTER WAS BORN!!!
by Es inwell its all happend, got to the hosp early friday morning, had my waters broken at around 7:30am had to wait for an hour and a half to see if labour would begin naturally, it didnt so at 9am i was hooked up to the drip, man that was intense, put it to you this way, blakes labour was about 8 hours all up kaia's labour was 3 hours and i would rather go through the 8 hour one anyday.. it was a very short labour, kaia was born a bit shocked as it happend so fast so she was rushed up to nursery for a bit as she was purple and not breathing properly but after an hour on oxygen she was fine, me on the other hand had to be stitched up coz pushing a 9 pound 1 baby out naturally with no drugs does damage heheh, then i had to be hooked up to a drip for 4 hours as i lost a bit of blood.
but once we were all sorted it was all good.
she is doing so well we are at home now, she is beautiful and very content.
