long shot - any Greek cooks here?!
by dobbie inokay i doubt it but thought it worth a try - when me and hubby were just the 2 of us we used to go to a greek island once or twice a year (sigh i miss it) but my two all time favorite dishes were greek.
i have tried to look in internet for recipes but they all seem to differ.
just wondering if anyone has the recipes for these:.

1. Stuffed tomatoes/peppers, my own don't taste the same, i just can't work out what herbs they used also what sort of rice it was.
2. Briam, roasted veg dish , only had once was the best thing i ever tasted!!
Please help! Thanks

sister in service in PANTS!
by Cellist inthis morning we saw a pair of jw women in service.
nothing remarkable except that one of them was wearing pants.
it wasn't even a cold day!

Wow lucky sister, i always wanted to be able to wear trousers, esp out on cold windy days. Wonder how she got away with it?!We#d have been severly counselled if we'd worn them.

Boy howdy! I pulled a foe paw for sure!
by Gregor inon weekends i am the conductor on a first class dinner train.
in addition to my conductor duties i walk through the train and schmooze with folks.
couple of weeks ago there was a party of four, man and woman in their mid thirties with a three year old girl and a mid fifties age man.

Gregor my hubby does that for a job too! Don't worry they are probably laughing about it now. Don't think he's done anything like that bit i do remember he came home once worried he would get in trouble. Apparently the train stopped at a station and he was collecting up the different newspapers to have a read before the next stop. This man tried to get off with the paper he wanted so hubby that its train property you can take it out the train, bloke refused and hubby grabbed the other end and they had a tug of war with it!
Also he was embarrassed last week (though not a faux pas pbviously) cos a woman came up to him and said Madeleine McCann was asleep on the train with a woman, also asleep and it was definately her cos this woman was a portrait artist and knew all about facial characteristics! So his control board advised him to get the transport police to board at the next station, they woke the woman up and she spent ages feverishly pulling out photos of her and her little girl and trying to prove who she was. Hubby was so embarrassed but i told him it was the only thing he could and should do as you never know.
He gets a lot of famous people on the train and took Jude Law and Sadie Frosts tickets once, they were on it with their kids, and he didn't even know who they were!Jude Law!!

Fading? What's up?
by arker ini was a jw, finally saw my chance and wrote a letter to the elders saying how bad i am and how i don't want to meet to discuss it and to df me if you want.
that was the end of it for me.
my question is if you know you are "fading" you are already gone so why not make the leap?

Manhas the courts don't favor non jws over jws in custody cases. My poor husband was initially given over to his non jw dad, then after he was settled and perfectly happy his mother contested, and as she was in a stable relationship with an elder and her dr gave her alot of help in court etc, she won him and his bro back, so that hubby could only go to dads for main holidays. He would have been better off where he was initially he was surrounded by love with his auntie and grandparents but there was alot of jw twisting of things and half truths said, tws i guess? And this was after she'd left him home alone when he was a toddler and left him behind for his dad to find him.

LMAO KW13 but bad luck cos i'm only 13 wks and i know EXACTLY when mines going to appear - (unless this one comes early too!) - my caesarian is all booked for February 25th 2008! Nearly collapsed in shock when they gave me the date already!
Only problem i will have is choosing a name, hubby wants nothing foreign, welsh, unusual, biblical, common (!) and that rules out about 99 per cent lol

Do you ever fear that they will kill you?
by NYer Girl ini've heard the jws referred to on this site mostly as a cult.
as such, am i the only one who fears that one day the society will tell them to eliminate all of us who have been deemed apostates?
i can think of several of my old "friends" who would not hesitate to take me out.
-
dobbie
No, the only thing i fear about them is that they will get my kids sucked into their religion and i'll lose them. My 5yr old still talks about going to meetings with his cousin etc

Our company has gone home
by Mulan inwe have had company (ex jw's) from england, for six days and they left early this morning to go home.. it was a great week.
they met our entire family, we went camping, a day trip to the san juan islands, and it was so much fun.
it was like a six day party.. and...........except for some funny stories about conventions in the 60's, we didn't even talk about having been jw's.
