Yep this used to happen to me every time i went inactive, i ust be the current record holder for the number of studies received! And each time i'd get halfway through each book and then it would sort of fizzle out. Then i realised they were actually counting the time although i was a baptised jw, and when the last person i'd studied with then said she'd like to study another book with me, and i knew she'd just become a pioneer i knew then that was the only reason for it, so she could easily count some time. So i stopped it and told her that the book didn't interest me, i found it too difficult, it was Daniel book i believe. Try and find some way out of it hun or they'll start pestering you again if you show some interest!

offers to study after going inactive!!
by gabriella ini just recieved my third offer to have a bible study after being inactive for several years.
hello,, i remember where the kh is if i wanted to attend and i think after five meetings a week my whole life i know what the teachings are without having another "study".
i just found it very degrading and arrogant to assume that there must be something "wrong with me" or that i "needed help".

BBC show- The Big Questions
by serotonin_wraith ini only managed to catch parts of it as i was working, but i was impressed with what i saw.
i'd love to see it in full, so if anyone spots it's been uploaded somewhere let me know.. the bbc is launching a new major tv programme called the big questions this weekend.
its aim is to move the discussion of diverse beliefs and ethics out of a narrow 'religion' bracket, and to respond creatively to the debates taking place in modern britain.

Nope since getting sky digital all we seem to have on is cartoon network nowadays! Its a shame this program wasn't on when Michael Roberts was in the news, would have been an interesting show to watch if they discussed/debated that side of jws etc.

Not wanting to be near a child
by JH ininteresting article.. http://online.wsj.com/article_email/sb118903209653018615-lmyqjaxmde3oda5njawmzyywj.html.
as a single man, i also feel that it's not well seen to even talk to a child you don't know... just look ahead and don't look at them.. pretty sad world hey..... .

Bobbi i volunteer at my son's school, in the 4-5 yr olds class and i was shocked when the teaching assistant said that even if a child were crying they weren't meant to touch them to hug or comfort them, and if they wet themselves and the teacher accidently touched any part of them, they have to actually write this down as a record! This is an all female school as well, i was glad when she said that if it was only her and the teacher there she did occasionally put her arm round them if they were really upset. The thought that my boy might be upset having just started school or feeling sick and couldn't have this comfort made me feel really sad.
Also my hubby is a governor there and loves talking to the kids, but i have noticed parents sometimes watching him when the kids go up to talk to him etc. It is so difficult to know how to act if you see a child on their own, even if you are female. Mum and i saw a 3/4yr old on her own in the park for ages, wshe finally walked away and we followed her to make sure she was ok, she went into her house then wassent out again, then her 7yr old cousin came out pushing a young baby and nearly broke its leg so we had to help him. In the end we managed to get them to go home as anything could have happened to them, they were so trusting. But even we didn't like to speak too much to them because of what its like nowadays, so we just kept an eye on them instead.

Hooray!!!My internets been down and i've just managed to find this thread by going into your profile - CONGRATULATIONS!!!
So happy for you both and he is a little sweetie. Now i know what you look like too don't know which of you looks cuter! Quite understand that Megan would want to vet her photos before putting them on here, i hate the ones hubby took of me after having Rowan! I was still being stitched up at the time too!
Is Megan home now or has she got to stay in for a bit, i know hospitals vary a bit on that. Ah i'm all broody now, newborns are my favourite.
Congratulations and welcome to the world little Noah, you have certainly had alot of people looking forward to hearing all about you. xx

My main hobbies nowadays are my vegetables, i have an allotment site about 10 min drive away, i share it, and i also grow some stuff at home, my flower garden, i dug borders all the way round my garden this year its amazing what a difference it makes. I love going out to decent restaurants though not v often as i don't like anyone to babysit other than mum and i can't keep asking her. I love going to the cinema whether its kids films or adults. I love walking and am lucky enough to be a 5 min walk away from the country lanes. Before the boys came my main hobbies would have been dancing and aerobics classes, plus i occasionally did night school classes, but i can't do any of that at the moment, hopefull when the youngest is at school i can do that sort of thing again if i still have the energy lol!
