What feels more liberating than burning your bra???
by loosie inpicking up 5 wt and awakes at your doctor's office and and tossing them in the trash after your appointment.. i tore them up so the garbage man wouldn't decide to become a jehovah's witness.. loosie (of the i didn't burn my bra but tore up mags instead class).

My son and daughter...making me proud...
by Billzfan23 inmy 9 year old son decides back in april that the memorial is going to be his last meeting at the kingdomhall.
so... he refuses to go to the meetings, and when forced to go - leaves the meeting right after the song and starts walking to my mother-in-law's house a couple of blocks away where he knows my sypathetic father-in-law (a raging catholic, not a jw) will have sympathy on him and say "nevermind, just leave him here with me when you go to the meetings from now on.
" the next week - the garbage man visits to collect the trash in front of the house - and my son had taken all of his meeting clothes, pants, suit jackets, ties, dress socks, etc... and left them all curbside for the trash man to pick up.

Packed and ready to go.
by noni1974 ini'm all ready to go to awake & watching's mini fest in hocking hills.i'm excited and kind of scared.i just got my car in march and this is the first time i'm driving it this far away.i don't know the area where i'm going and i'll be driving alone.i have to check all my fluids yet and also the tire pressure.i've got my cell phone fully charged and my dad's towing card.thank goodness i have a really good sence of direction.i plan on driving while it's full light out so i don't get lost in the dark.. .
plus this is the first time i'll be meeting people from jwd as well as my first real fest of any size.i know i'm going to have a blast just getting out of the city where i live and seeing parts of the state i live in i've never seen before.. i'm taking my camera so i can take photos.i'll try to post them when i get back.wish me luck..

Did you get offended when people would refer to you as 'a jehovah witness'?
by Pioneer Spit...oh, i mean Spirit inand correct them and say, 'no no you hump, i'm one of jehovah's witnesses', as in, 'i'm not alone fella, i'm one of many.
you mess with me, you mess with all of us.
do you not know that at any time i could summon a legion of other witnesses?'.

If i had to mention it i would say 'i'm a jehovah's witness' not one of. Someone at work use to call us jovy's, i thought that was quie cute but my friend went nuts at me for saying it and said it was really disrespectful! Other people used to refer to jws as just 'jehovahs' that was funny. Didn't really bother me what names they came up with tbh. Maybe bible basher of thumper annoyed me the most!

Wow i am seeing so many new faces on here and you are all beautiful/gorgeous!
Free2think i have given up on having it chemically straightened now, i do use straighteners when i have time but not often nowadays or i get the 'frizzy' look - nice!
4Digit - Floella Benjamin is/was a female kids presenter around the time i was young and William Dafoe is an actor though i don't think i've seen him in anything.

Warning to Witnesses with blood cards = 11 bags blood but still alive!!!
by Witness 007 ini friend of mine wen't to a night club where things got out of hand, and a drunken fight resulted in him being stabbed in the abdomen with a large knife.
rushed to hospital {lucky boy 15 min drive} he arrives looking pale and too weak to walk, he already had lost alot of blood.
taken immediatley inside for emergency treatment.

To those of you that feel bad about giving/accepting blood, you would have felt even worse i'm sure if you had refused it. I refused it for my son, thought EPO was the cure til they said it'd take a month to work and still didn't have the guts to follow my instincts and give him the blood. Yes i was told the courts would step in anyway but there is nothing in the world more that i regret than the knowledge of what a coward i was, esp as i love him more than anything else on this planet, though i know people would doubt that because of my actions but it is true. And EPO is no good in an emergency or albumin which the HLC told us would be, they are very misleading.
If any of you are in doubt check you've destroyed your blood card and check with your doctors surgery and hospital that you've had any trace of not wanting a transfusion etc deleted. I did that before i left the religion and my doctor was so relieved and pleased for me she was nearly in tears!
