Are the Witnesses witnessing where you are?
by TJ - iAmCleared2Land init occurred to me the other day that it's been forever since we've had a jw knock on our door, leave a tract or magazine, etc.
we live in a suburb of a major u.s. city.. what about you?
when is the last time the witnesses visited?

Yes thinking about it they like street witnessing better, they used to say you get hold of more people and you can choose who to speak to (tut tut) - so just look like a grumpy goat when you see them out in the street and they won't bother you!

Where i'm at
by KW13 infinally, i'm in a place where my life as a jw is not only behind me, but my ex-jw form is changing from a hurt teenager, to a wiser young man.
many people here helped me get there, and having noah and megan have helped too.
i hope you all find where you need to be in life, time is the biggest healer but you also need a different outlook and perspective in life, and it needs to be brought about 'manually' rather than happening all on its own.

Here's One ....
by The Berean inis it better to disassociate oneself as one of jws or wait for due process and be disfellowshipped?.

My experience so far is that d'ad whereas sis in law was d'fd. Thing is they are all alot kinder (some even had contact with her secretly) to and about her whereas i was honest and didn't hurt anyone but am totally ignored and disliked. I am sure it is because she was d'fd so it wasn't her decision, therefore she is more likely to go back to them but i left of my own free will. So they look much more kindly on her than me. Fading can work for a while but to be totally successful i think you need to move where none of the witnesses know you, otherwise when you least expect it they'll be checking up on you.

Why Do Boys Like To Fight - And Not Take Baths???
by snowbird inmy g'sons are teenagers now (14 and 13), and they've gone from sweet, helpful little boys to gruff-voiced, smelly strangers!.
girls reigned in our family, and i don't know how to relate to boys.. what do i do?.

It's been a new experience for me too Snowbird! I think boys are just SO competitive they can't help themselves, everyone i speak to who have boys say it is the same for them so i try to take deep breaths and take heart at that! I know how tiring it is tho, wish i could be more help but i know what its like, and obviously mine won't be growing out of it!x

Snowbird i have 3 boys, the eldest are only 4 and 6 but i dread to think what they will be like as teens! They like their baths but constantly fight and bicker - they're lovely to their family and friends - just not to each other, i now have 2 weeks school holidays to get through - plus a one yr old - agh! (Love 'em to bits tho!!!)

They are constantly witnessing on my estate, because witnesses live next door and they meet up there! Fortunately all my lovely neighbours know all about them now and aren't interested lol. They just seem to do the same old streets over and over, no wonder people get fed up with them! They used to still call on us as my hubby is inactive bso i wrote them a stinky note and haven't been bothered since hooray!

QUIT PUSHING IT AWAY.................PLEASE..........................
by Warlock ini have noticed that part of, if not all of, the problem with some ex-jw's is that they insist on pushing their jw experience away.. look, you were jw's and that is a fact that you cannot change!.
converted, or born-in.
it is a fact of your life.. quit pushing it away!.

Well said Warlock, though it can take time to accept your past. The way i see it now for myself is that it has happened, i regret some things but they can't be undone. I see it as all experience and i am a stronger, wiser person now for having been through it and come out smiling! I also wouldn't have my kids if i hadn't gone along and met my hubby so tho i would change some things/decisions i wouldn't change joining it initially as they are everything to me.
I can't underestimate getting support to help you through, whether it's from a professional counsellor or good friends, it's so much easier if you just find one person to share it with - but this board is a huge help, esp at first when you might not be ready to talk openly face to face with others.x

MIL shunning me.....
by AK - Jeff insaw it was her on the caller id.
mil: silence.
mil: i am looking for mrs ak jeff [spoken as if she had no idea who the man who answered the phone could be].

So sorry, i know it's hurtful, my mil won't even knock at our door to see her grandkids, she's never seen the youngest and she lives in the same small town, my hubby now supports me and she does'nt even text him now, it's all so nuts. Funny thing is she took my d'fd sis in law out clothes shopping for her kid - guess i was never in favor to begin with! Sending you a big hug, you so don't deserve this treatmentx

How many TIMES can a JW be DF'd before the ELDERS dismiss them PERMANENTLY?
by african GB Member ini know a "sister" who has been df'd 10 times for adultery within a period of 15 years..... she is married....her hubby was an elder until she got df'd for the 1st time...he was then deleted....apparently the sister was not happy in the bedroom, he was always away doing cong duties, including jcs....... she keeps getting reinstated, and usually it does'nt take long for her (not the usual 6 months).....apparently she is a very good actress (she cries like a baby in the jcs )..... how many times can she keep getting df'd and reinstated like this until the elders say it is enough?.

They will just keep on reinstating, they are desperate to keep their numbers up!
