Thanks Sad emo for cheering me up!Yes it is a church school i didn't think of interfaith thing cos i went to that school and weren't any witnesses then.I just wanted to know why jws are going to say it's wrong when i don't see why - i personally think children should find out about all religions.I understand people get heated up here because of what they've experienced but trying to make others fell bad isn't the way to help others out of the religion i was ready not to post here again so thanks for your smilie and have a good day!

i wasn't brought up a jw and am inactive but there are lots of other jw children going and apparently are'nt allowed to go to school assemblies.
i can't remember anything wrong with school assemblies and i think it's daft to keep my child in a separate room while its going on.

Hellrider - the reason i was asking is because i CAN'T see why they can't go to assemblies and wanted to know if any UK JWs could tell me why so i can be prepared when i get in trouble for my child going -SHAME ON YOU for saying that to me i thought this was a place to ask freely not to be made to feel bad the JWs are already going to be doing that to me soon and i don't need it here as well.Thanks to everyone else though.Must have PMT i suppose but there is no need to talk to me in that tone

Can anyone tell me if they know why they can't join in?Then i can make my mind up and if i say to teachers to let him attend them i may find it easier to explain myself to the elders when they find out.Also can they attend RE?Would these two things be a reproving matter if i let my child attend?(I am talking about primary school)Thanks

AN ELDER SPOKE TO ME TODAY

Hi i think you gave him the perfect response personally, he's obviously two faced and needs to be brought down a peg or two.I don't ever speak out or be rude either but sometimes we have to and i think under the circumstances you were quite mild, sometimes people like that need a little shock to think about their actions.

the elders, because they were "shepherds and overseers" believed they had the right to talk about you, your family, your job, your personality and so forth.....they pick apart any male in the hall under the guise of seeing whther someone "might qualify for privileges".

I think the elders wives were especially bad at gossiping.I also just found out from a reliable source today theat my m-in-law (elders wife) used to tell people i was a mentally disturbed psychopath and their nickname for me was 'psycho'.All i can say is she'd better watch out next time she's in the shower!It does explain why certain ones were'nt associating with me at that time,nice to know the whole congregration and all her friends think i'm some sort of loon, it'll make them feel better about it when they find out i'm going to start celebrating holidays birthdays etc - 'oh well, she was always a bit odd you know'...at least it'll keep them in gossip for another few months!

I agree with Lowden re innocent little ones and that is the main thing that has put me off the troof - who wants to spend eternity with a load of people who can't wait for all the people and kiddies to ba slaughtered?!Although i am still worrying about armageddon sometimes as i'm only inactive at the moment, somedays i don't think of it at all and hopefully it will get easier when the jws don't keep saying if i leave i'll be killing my kids cos if i stay a jw but don't get through to new system they'll be killed anyway!

What are you up to this weekend?
by saki2fifty inwell, i've been reading, and reading, and even more reading and just dont have it in me to respond (midnight here)... so... here's whats going on with me this weekend.. i live in houston, and scheduled a trip up to austin for the weekend for a little race that we are participating in.

My husbands met a few through his work, including Pierce Brosnan(lucky thing) Jude Law and Sadie Frost(did'nt know who they were!) Duran Duran Joss Ackland actor Noel Edmonds presenter Caron Keating presenter now sadly died.Got me Brosnans autograph - terrible handwriting!

Just to bring my children up how i want and to feel free and do what i want.Hopefully to do voluntary work once they are at school.My current goal is to try and fade!I can't really focus on having goals until i've made my mind up once and for all and left org for good, hoping they'll df me rather than me disassociate but have reasons not to be df'd yet.
