  i have two cats.

  one is a fat female cat.

  i have one of those soaker tubs and when i soak in it, she will sit on the back ledge and bury her head in my hair and just purr up a storm.

  lol Abandoned bit off topic but my little lad just saw your avatar and though it was his grandad!(I said you were a bit younger that him!)

  Swalker that is so true about labs my mums ate everything in sight!Chairs, carpet, rocks. He used to reach the back of the worktops with his great paws and drag any food he could til he could gobble it up - he once ate a lovely looking veggie shepherds pie my mum made me by doing that - i haven't liked him much since cos all i ended up having for my dinner was toast!grrr.He even used to eat the foil tubs his dinner used to come in lol

  My dogs a bit old now but he used to love playing football on the beach, he push it along for miles with his shoulders. He also always knows when we're ill or upset and sits by our side.

  My dads dog used to like biffing balloons in the air and keep them up there it was so funny to watch.

  i just picked up this sci-fi movie from the groovie 70's and watched it.

  i remember that it kind of disturbed me when i was a kid.

  it was about a closed society that automatically kills everyone at age 30, so they can be replaced by a new baby.

  Yep i used to love watching that film, its not on telly often. Some bits i found disturbing too when i was young. It is all about controlling the people and conditioning them to accept whatever they are told - hmm yes v similar to a certain religion now i think of it!lol

  The Sunday Thread!

  i just spent a helluva a long morning in bed even though i was awake early, then did some yoga before breakfast and a piping hot shower.

  now i feel like i still have a whole fabulous day to enjoy doing exactly what i want.. in my other life i used to dread sundays.

  i would read my book to take my mind off the imminent boredom right up until we got to the hall doors and then 2 hours of monotony would follow - the sickening nerves of making myself answer up, often choking mid sentence because i was so nervous, but worse was to come.

  I used to hate getting up when we had the morning meetings, and hated it when it was after lunch(shared hall) cos i'd be tired after eating. Now we get up and dressed late, kids watch telly, make cakes, go to swimming class and shops, go to park or round my mums. I laughed this morning looking out the kitchen window cos i saw my neighbours all dressed up going off to the meeting, and back just now from the ministry presumably, and i was so glad to be out of that.!

  I used to hate answering up too Crumpet, i would literally shake from head to toe and go the colour of a tomato!So i didn't do it much but i never forget once my step father in law(elder) picked on me out of the blue to read a scripture, i nearly burst into tears from shock!In the end i used to spend every meeting in the 2nd hall out the back, and no amount of persuasion would get me out of there!

  where we live is a very *new agey*, *earthy* area.

  when i was a witness i never thought twice about my astrological sign or how it relates to anyone else.

  here, people are always asking what my sign is and i've really been entertained by how i see patterns with people in my life and how i've noticed i'm actually attracted to certain *signs* .

  Taking a break.......

  .....not a very long one though.

  next weekend is a bit special for trev and i, and we are going off on holiday on sunday (25th) to spend 8 days relaxing on the meditterranean island of sardinia.

  Have a lovely time!I've never been there myself (we used to love the greek islands before the kiddies came along) but i saw a programme on a digital channel last week about Sardinia and i thought it looked absolutely stunning.Hope you enjpy yourselves and have an interesting, relaxing time you both deserve it!

  Ridiculous teenager counselled at Assembly.

  the ridiculous teenager is me.

  this story takes me back to 1969, when i was 15 years old.

  we were attending the international assembly at wembley stadium, near london, the only time, i think, that wembley was ever used for an assembly.. if youve ever read any of the stories i posted on jwd over the years, youll know that i was never one of those kids growing up in the truth who always had doubts about it or was unhappy and miserable with the religion, just waiting for the chance to get out.

  Mouthy - that was so thoughtful of you!It used to annoy the hell out of me when i'd just got my boy finally peaceful and asleep and all of a sudden everyone would clap loudly and of course he'd wake up, scream the place down and i'd have to take him out again accompanied by dirty looks cos of the noise HE was making!aagh!The last assembly it happened at in Plymouth, i walked out to the car with him and we spent the whole 2 days there listening to the talks on the radio!Much comfier and i could switch the radio off when i had enough and i could eat and drink whenever we wanted!I'm SO glad i don't have to drag my kids along to it anymore!

  I've got loads more than three reasons but i guess the main ones are:

  1. Wanting my children to be able to grow up as individuals, independent thinkers with freedom of choice

  2. My selfish m i l (elders wife) and total lack of interest or concern(even when seriously ill) of her grandchildren and the way she always put my hubby down for being a good provider by doing lots of shifts and not being a ms or elder

  3. realising that it was all a load of rubbish and that i didn't have to be scared of them and their bullying tactics anymore.

  ps i could go on all night!
