we were going out to dinner the other night and when we pulled out of our driveway, i noticed something strangely familiar at the foot of our neighbors driveway.

hmmmm....light brown books, encyclopedia size...what the?!!

Are JW's generally better than average people?

i for one, would blindly trust just about anyone on this forum, just the fact of knowing that you already were a jw.. does this mean that jw's in general are better people or are we a very close bunch of people?.

To be honest i found that my family (who are non jws) always acted an awful lot better that my husbands jw ones and their friends, i was constantly shocked/upset at the difference. Even my husband used to point out to me that my family acted more like jws should than the jws we knew! I knew so many jws that led double lives too, yet were hypocritical of others when they got found out about things, also they gosssiped far more than any non jws i have ever known!So maybe the answer is no, but alot of them think they are!

my son, karl, and his girlfriend, sarah, have just had a baby boy!

sarah gave birth to jack yesterday - a may day baby .

claire and i are going over to see them all this evening.

That Morning Drink

in the morning what drink do you first like?

(or need).... i find anything hot such as a tea/coffee or maybe even a hot choclate.

maybe its not necessarily the drink but more the time you allow yourself..

I have to drink a very strong cup of tea before i can think of getting out pf bed, i get up half an hour before make it and go back to bed. When i was pregnant i couldn't touch tea and ended up putting on loads of weight by living on hot chocolate.

Why do people choose to d'assoc by letter instead of just fading?

i simply gradually quit going.

of course, this was many years ago and maybe the "rules" have changed, but rather than create drama among my family, i just let them think i was becoming materialistic and spiritually weak.

at least it kept them talking and associating with me rather than cutting me off.

I had been trying to fade but they wouldn't leave me alone, it got so bad i would'nt answer the door or phone and i constantly felt sick, i realised i'd had enough of it all, researched on cmputer and was v shocked at all the things like 1975 and flip flops etc, verified alot of stuff by looking it up in WT mags. I knew i wanted my boys to have a normal upbringing like i did and did'nt want to celebrate stuff without officially leaving it didn't feel right.After my f in l elder came round and started intimidating me, then another kept trying to meet us i just wanted them all to bog off- i knew nothing i'd say would be listened to or understood. I just didn't want them telling me anymore that my boys were going to die. My hubbys trying to fade but i'm sure they'll catch up with him eventually!And i can answer the door again now!

A SUCKER FOR BORDER COLLIES

ok, i admit it, claire and i are dog mad!

last saturday we travelled to mid-wales to pick up a border collie puppy!

he's nine weeks old and we've called him ronnie (my son, dominic's, choice).

We used to have a border collie, he was the soppiest daftest thing on the planet, he used to spend hours chasing shadows!We've got a jack russell now - slightly different!
