Can i just ask about the public and non public watchtowers..
by dobbie infor those of you that know, is there any difference between the two?i haven't been here for a few months and wondered if the public wt is tolerant and friendly than the witnesses one,and if the witnesses one was more hardline, covering the more controversial things?would just be really interested to find out if the public one has articles more designed to catch householders out, without putting anything in them that could put them off ie discipline (shunning) or blood etc.
thanks!

I was told i could count studies with my child about three yrs ago!(though i never did although they kept asking me if i had, cos to me that didn't count as ministry esp as he was only 3!)

A practical lesson on shunning.
by strawberry cake intoday i decided to visit a friend of mine who i met when she was my study.
(she has no intentions of making a commitment, but still continues studying with old pioneer 'friends' of mine.
well it just so happens that these 2 sisters were there.

What i've found is that if you get one of them on their own sometimes if you say hello or something you sometimes get an answer! Proof to me that they don't really want to shun. Some i smile at or make the occasional comment, others are dollops anyway so i have nothing to do with them. Good for you for being so gutsy i, know how hard it is at first, being blanked by people you thought were true friends x

I will be insane soon. Conditional love. Thought terminating cliches.
by easyreader1970 inwhen i first started to doubt the watchtower, i thought they were just a bit misguided.
this was some years ago.
but i felt like maybe they had most of it right and that things would sort themselves out in the end.

Sorry you are going through this. We know all about the conditional love , hubbys family have already told him that they will never put him or any other family member first, the religio/God ismore important. This is now why i call them a mind controlling cult.
Have you actually tried talking with your wife? I got to the point where although i wasn't sure what my husband would do, i had to leave the religion even if it did mean us splitting up. Thankfully he believes as i do that family comes first before anything on earth but i got to the state where i was ready for us to part if it meant breaking away from the jws. It was actually making me feel constantly sick the last few months, in the end i think the stress of it all just gets to you. Hugs xx

With someone who had a 27wker its very sad she died, thoughtbh she may have had permanent damage not having much oxygen. Poor little mite.
But to me (and don't eat me its only my opinion!) this proves that there isn't any God or he wouldn't have let her be born too soon, and die anyway.

allergic to onions
by buffalosrfree inmy sister is allergic to onions (not sure about scallions) and i wanted to fix her some of the food she never gets to eat when visiting.
so i am looking for a replacement that will still give the good some good taste just not with the onions.
anyone out there have any suggestions?

my step dad is allergic to onions as well, also anything related and can't even have things with onion powder in such as alotof sausages. He just has lots of pepper in his food. How about using something like herbs or paprika, not oniony but adds flavour?
