by Brummie intv programs i have to immediately turn off include:.
i'm a celebrity get me out a here...(yeah, get em outta here fer crying).. oprah winfrey/ricki lake...omgaawd, oprah thinks she's "a god" or something and so does her audience.. neighbors/eastenders/corra st/ all of em come to think of it.. what grates your teeth?

My own pet peeve is the US kids show 'Keenan and kel' which is such asanine rubbish it makes me cringe.
That, and the A team, are the only programs I forbade my kids to watch.

I think he means the new brochure 'See the Good Land' which is a collection of maps highlighting areas mentioned in the bible.

LANDMARK DECISION - Vicki Boer vs Watchtower Society
by Uzzah inas most are aware, vicki boer has been long awaiting a decision to be handed down in a case she started against the society in canada.. the decision was handed down today.
as with any 55 page decision, it will take some time for the legal experts to hash it over and decipher what was said.
but, in a nutshell..... vicki won.

Courts tend to follow previous rulings so this is a victory indeed - the WBTS must be shaking in its boots at the thought of what's to come.

So the demonising of the Internet picks up a pace? My wife and kids came home on Saturday after attending the convention and my daughter went straight online to chat with friends on a chat room. My wife went apoplectic, and threatened to cut us off the Internet if any of our kids ever went on chat rooms again. Sad really, since she is an intelligent woman in all other regards.
One word of advice to anyone hoping to get through to a JW - NEVER mention the Internet, it brings a mental barrier crashing down that is so powerful you can literally see their eyes go dull.

The new book for children.
by dmouse inmy wife went to the convention yesterday and brought back the new book for children 'learn from the great teacher'.. it's certainly much better than the old pink book, larger and more colourful, even if the pictures have a 1950's feel to them.
the introduction mentions that there are questions throughout the book that you should ask children to find out what is on their mind... saying ' true, the child may come out with with answers that are not correct.
but the printed material that follows each question is designed to help the child to develop wholesome patterns of thinking'.... 'wholesome patterns of thinking' eh?
