Well Francois, you see, if he put a B instead of a P in the first sign, then the spare P must have gone into the other sign in place of the B. And if you look at the 'London Brick Company' then the only place it could have gone is....oh forget it!

British Branch to answer to Government!!!!
by dmouse inimmediately after the panorama episode which dealt with the jehovahs witness problem with paedophiles i contacted my local mp, patricia hewitt, to voice my concerns.
it appears that she forwarded my concerns to the parliamentary under secretary of state, hilary ben mp.
this is a copy of the letter she received back, which came in the post this morning.

Thanks for your input and advice Hawkaw, and others.
Rest assured that I will be pursuing this issue with the Secretary, especially the 'Theocratic warfare' view! I understand your concerns SS but this is a group whose beliefs DO hurt innocent people. They must be forced to conform with commonly accepted standards of decency, outlined in the law of the country.
Yours in the fine fight,

I think you might be being a little too sceptical Hawkaw. True, Governments tend to find the path of least resistance but bear in mind the publics extreme sensitivity to this issue at the moment, with the murder of Holly and Jessica. I think they would be unwise to underestimate the will of people over this issue. They might lose too many votes!
Im not expecting the Government to close the British branch down, but surely this is better than nothing?
We have to keep nibbling away at the Barstewards.

Immediately after the Panorama episode which dealt with the Jehovahs Witness problem with paedophiles I contacted my local MP, Patricia Hewitt, to voice my concerns.
It appears that she forwarded my concerns to the Parliamentary Under Secretary Of State, Hilary Ben MP.

I have blanked out my name to protect my identity. It seems that the government will be asking the WBTS in Britain some tough questions!

Living life on the outside!!!
by haujobbz insince leaving the jws faith i have become a very naughty boy.
since i left i have started to lie and not care,i swear a lot,i have even stolen something like a choccy bar or drink,.
i suppose i feel mislead and have become a very rebellious boy, i wonder if any of you have experienced these changes in your personality.. but what pees me off , is say there is a god and hes watching me, i suppose im dead meat in his eyes due to being an unrepentant sinner.. so what would you do lead a life independent of god and do what you like when you want or would you take a chance and be good and assume there might be a god and hope to go to heaven or wherever.. but i am very happy thank goodness.

LOL @ Sentinel!
I guess it's a sign. Like in 'Signs', the new Mel Gibson movie. Which I quite enjoyed.
We weren't little devils for long were we?

Will my JW wife and son get into trouble for this?
by dmouse insome of you may remember my son's struggle with his beliefs about a year ago.
benjamin was brought up as a jw and was heavily involved, used extensively on the platform as a good jw role model.
however, about a year ago (when he was 13) he started to have doubts and went through a cycle of depression, even contemplating suicide.

My wife and children are back from the meeting.
Nothing happened this time. Maybe they are confused by my wife's response and are wondering what to do.
Benjamin did say that a letter was read at the meeting from the society, basically begging for more money.

I never lie, steal or cheat. I have only ever had sex with my wife. I do not smoke or take drugs. I treat people kindly as far as possible.
Guess I was never cut out to be a JW.

Yeah, bullies always look for easy targets.
Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts.
My wife and children have just left for the Thursday meeting. I told Benjamin under no circumstances should he meet alone with the elders. Thankfully I trust my wife to protect him from any browbeating, she isn't totally brain-dead.
Benjamin will let me know if anything happens, and I will let you folks know.
If they mess with him there'll be trouble.
I make the elders nervous anyway after butt-kicking several of them over their beliefs. I remember about five years ago when an elder was coming to visit my wife, Benjamin (about 9 at the time) said 'please don't make elder X cry!'
I wonder why he said that! I don't think I've ever reduced an elder to actual tears but I know they aren't ever keen to come back.

Well blow me!
Benjamin just came home from school with four certificates. One for attainment in Religious Education (LOL)! The other two are grade five level (with honours) in acting and improvisation from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
I know about the gay possibility Explorer, and I've talked to Benjamin about it in a calm and frank way. I've told him that whatever sexual orientation he is doesn't matter to me, I'll always love him. However he assures me that he has no gay inclinations. And I believe him.
